The union are doing their best to come across amateurish at every turn. Their PR is beyond appalling; isn't there an online meeting at 8am tomorrow? 8am, when many full timers will still be sorting and many part timers will just be starting. How the hell, again, are they announcing strike dates without running it through their legal team and being sure that it's actually legal? A day should never have been announced, because the timings were just stupid. The day before the ballot closes, and basically making people like me that do afternoons split shift. I've always tried to defend the union, knowing that ultimately, they have our interests at heart but it's becoming increasingly difficult.

There will be the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth against the Union no doubt but you can’t really blame them for not getting involved in a court battle with a company aided and abetted by a corrupt system and government intent on removing any right of the working man and woman.

I can only imagine Royal Mail must think our second ballot has now virtually expired .

It does seem a bit amateur, making announcements without checking the legality first, a bit like being led by the chuckle brothers or laurel and Hardy but then it's all we've got.
I just hope what we've got improves over time and gets better at doing this sort of thing.

It’s not the first Time Royal Mail have thwarted strike action.If the union can’t get the basics right what chance have we got of getting a good deal.

Good grief what a bunch of doom mongers. The RM board still haven’t recovered from Thompson’s display at the select committee and round 2 is approaching. Nothing on that scale of utter chimpery has happened to the CWU leadership.

I do wonder about the legal team at the CWU and I'm starting to believe that Dave Ward and Andy Furey are actually doing it themselves. Its not the first time the CWU have cocked up on ballots and strike days either and you rarely hear of larger Unions such as Unison or Unite getting this sort of this wrong.

Like I said incompetent. All the union leadership are overpaid and incompentent, we all know that whatever deal they eventually get with RM our jobs will be way worse then it already is, and its already bad. CWU leadership are weak incompetent and overpaid the union needs an overhaul to kick all these people out.

I support it wholeheartedly but you have to wonder when the one big thing they have to concentrate on in fact the only real thing they have to concentrate on can't be done correctly.

It is a minor setback mate, the game changer is the yes vote, this was a bit of a long shot tbh and probably only happened due to all the neigh sayers saying the union is crap look at what's happening with the executive action, so they had a pop probably knowing with all the anti Union laws it was a longshot, but it's the yes vote size and turnout that will decide the outcome of this dispute

Nothing to do with anti union laws my friend please read what union said reasons where for strike revisions something we have not been ballotted on shambles.somebodys head needs to roll but we all know nothing will happen as per usual..ffs how big was last 2 ballots an after so many strike days black fri cyber mon an christmas an were no further on.
