Hi does anyone know what RM are trying to change with our sick policy.
I have heard a rumour that they intend to only pay us the first week of sick absence then after that it's statutory sick pay ?
If this is true that's a massive change to our sick policy even with a doctors sick note!!

Yes, they want to change it. They want the first 3 days of the second absence to be SSP. One of the many changes we are striking against

None of them as nothing has been agreed.

First absence paid
Further absences only paid after first three days off - the first three days being SSP which is zero for first three days

So if you are off a week it will be fully paid

If you are off another week at a different time you will only be paid 2 days of that week

If instead of a week, you are only off three days or less in that second absence you will be unpaid as like I said SSP is zero for first three days

That’s what was being proposed

They are being sneaky by saying paid at SSP rate rather than saying zero pay

Yep got the wife doing overtime and some cash in hand cleaning jobs myself more than one way to skin a cat,i could do this indefinitely.
