What is so hard to understand..TOWER1 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 22:38Albeit it's been clarified, but not the best form of communication, from the Communication Union....HTPostman wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 19:22The clarity/wording from CWU on this is woeful - a lot of confusion from colleagues about what day/what time we are striking.
Even the BBC have us as their 4th story with the headline ‘Royal Mail workers to strike again on 16 February’ and the main article says ‘About 115,000 workers will strike from 12:30pm on Thursday 16 February, until 12.30pm on Friday 17 February.’
Also not sure what this day of action will achieve as many on here have stated.... perhaps to augment " We are still here" campaign?
I am confident there will be a massive Yes vote coming up, coupled with working to time after the implementation of these revisions will be more effective.

Re: New Strike date
What a surprise the clueless leadership want to strike at the least busiest time of year where Royal mail will not give a stuff, and the overtime hawks will clear the office the next day. Basically wasting a days pay so Dave and his mates can look good in front of the press. Our regional union rep said the CWU leadership do not want to bring in an overtime ban/work to rule because there are posites that rely on overtime to pay the bills, I mean give me a break, if you need overtime to pay the bill then your in the wrong job and what about the majority eho do not do overtime or do not need it? We are all going to lose another days pay, the union dont seem to give a stuff about that. The leadership are clueless, why don't they ballot us on what we want to do? The overall majority would take a work to rule stance instead of this pointless strike action that Royal mail dont care about. Total incompetent leadership of Royal mail and our union they are both as bad as each other. How much of Dave's massive salary is he giving up throughout this dispute?

Looking at your post history, you have a personal vendetta against the union leadership and specifically Dave Ward.Iva bigredbag wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:33What a surprise the clueless leadership want to strike at the least busiest time of year where Royal mail will not give a stuff, and the overtime hawks will clear the office the next day. If, the “majority” do not do overtime, just how effective would an overtime ban be?

You are the one that is clueless if you don’t understand why people need overtime to pay their bills during a cost of living crisis. All the bills have gone up! Not the brightest spark are you?Iva bigredbag wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:33What a surprise the clueless leadership want to strike at the least busiest time of year where Royal mail will not give a stuff, and the overtime hawks will clear the office the next day. I always find it amusing when, from the standpoint of one delivery office, someone claims to know what the overall majority in the country would do.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: New Strike date
Must be great to be completely unaffected by the massive rise in the cost of living. It’s such a smug, irritating take when someone tells you, you shouldn’t have been relying on overtime. As if you have a choice. Have they tried getting an additional job to increase their income recently? If only it was that easy.pinstripe wrote: ↑03 Feb 2023, 02:45So, basically every part timer is in the wrong job?Iva bigredbag wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:33

All the OT application sheets have vanished from the notice boards, which makes me wonder if RM are about to or already have, going to bring in another national OT ban

Re: New Strike date
Probably. Our manager kind of hinted OT might disappear. No idea why it was mentioned. But it felt like the manager was being pressured from above to put pressure on us.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Feb 2023, 06:43All the OT application sheets have vanished from the notice boards, which makes me wonder if RM are about to or already have, going to bring in another national OT ban
I feel like that's how it could go soon. Managers will try to be military with us.

You are unhappy about losing a days pay, presumably as it's money you can't afford to or don't want to lose.Iva bigredbag wrote: ↑02 Feb 2023, 23:33What a surprise the clueless leadership want to strike at the least busiest time of year where Royal mail will not give a stuff, and the overtime hawks will clear the office the next day. I'm guessing you'd be even less happy with losing 2 days pay - because that is the equivalent of what part time staff who are having the usual overtime stopped will pay. No overtime, usually an hour or so early a day, plus no pay on strike days.

Re: New Strike date
No.
You complete any shift starting before the strike and strike on any shift starting after the start of the strike.
In Deliveries, everyone will be in and should finish their shift on the 16th, but will be on strike all day on the 17th, unless their shift starts after 1230.
