The way I read it is...the strike begins at 12.30pm on the thurs for all workers who's shifts START AFTER that time which means deliveries will be as normal on the Thurs as your shift starts BEFORE not after 12.30. That will cover other shifts patterns but because your shift starts before 12.30pm on the Friday you will strike on the Friday.
The other staff who start work after 12.30pm on the Friday will work as normal as they were out the day before.

It's all about shift start times
Duties that start AT or after 1230 on the Thursday strike on Thursday, duties that start before 1230 on Thursday finish their shift and strike on the Friday.
1229 start on Thursday means you work Thursday strike Friday, 1230 or later start on Thursday means you strike Thursday Work Friday.

I'm probably going to get a bit of flack for putting this, but as someone who's low on seniority and potentially going to lose my job because of these job repicks being implemented through executive action, i just can't be bothered and don't see the point in striking anymore.

Especially when there are hard working people who have striked all through this, just to have their contracted hours taken from them (in some cases, almost half of the hours they have now.)
To be honest seniority seems to count for very little at the moment anyway

I'll be out, but if those pr**s didn't bat an eyelid when we struck on black friday, at Christmas, how is striking now, going to make any difference?

Unions need to think outside the box now.

People need to see that something beneficial is going to come from giving Royal Mail a day's pay, and right now, I can't see that there will.

This doesn't just go for the CWU, but for all unions, as there seems to be quite clearly a concerted effort on the part of the establishment to destroy the unions as a presence in the workplace.

A new strategy is needed now.

People have had their contracted hours reduced? By half? So full timers have been made part time?

I don't want to state to much, as to avoid giving away where i work, but the hours they were on, was close to full time hours, but considered part time. They have been given notice that the hours they are on, are no longer needed and they are to return to their previous duty hours, in some cases going back onto 16-18 hours etc.

My guess is that they were Temporary FT and unfortunately the business have reverted them to their substantive PT contracts.

I think a part timer doing a full time delivery therefore getting full time time pay and has now been cuntishly put back down to his/her contracted hours

It wasn't O.T they were on, they were on temporary contracts, which is why they have been changed back. Also, they weren't on F.T, they were just shy of F.T, hence why they could go back down.

Is this really worth it for the sake of one day? Just win the ballot then announce the dates. Somewhat converluted, too. So I assume i strike for my delivery Friday but rock up for my collection at 3?

Its crap either way, one of my mates was made up temporary full time but knew it could be taken away at any time.
