Is this really worth it for the sake of one day? Just win the ballot then announce the dates. Somewhat converluted, too. So I assume i strike for my delivery Friday but rock up for my collection at 4?

Yes as we will into march before we can next take action. Management think they are pushing on an open door at the moment despite more broken promises in writing that the IR frame work would be followed in offices.

I'm probably going to get a bit of flack for putting this, but as someone who's low on seniority and potentially going to lose my job because of these job repicks being implemented through executive action, i just can't be bothered and don't see the point in striking anymore.

Especially when there are hard working people who have striked all through this, just to have their contracted hours taken from them (in some cases, almost half of the hours they have now.)

The Union will have a better idea whether a 1 day strike or strikes in general are having an impact on Royal Mail's business....

It would be good if Dave Ward can explain to us how much this 1 day strike can impact on Royal Mai in the next 6pm Youtube live.

Royal Mail do not care if mail is delayed during this strike. They don't have to pay 120,000+ workers for the day, fuel for the day, accidents for the day etc, and can just employ agency to clear their beloved Tracked parcels. So where do Royal Mail take the hit financially?

And i'd usually agree, but the reality is, we'll get to see just how unionized everyone really is, when it comes to the job repicks.

What i'm trying to put across, is that r.m are going to do whatever they want now, that's fairly demonstrable at this point. With how many jobs are going at my place, i am pretty much out of a job, so whats the point in striking? The whole, "we have to stick together" works up until the point when everyone is fighting for the jobs available to apply for and then at that point, it becomes a case of every man for himself.

Surely this means we stop work at 12:30 and return to work the following day at 12:30 - therefore spreading the disruption over 2 days. It's what some of us have clamoured for since the strikes began.

I see your point, but RM are bulldozing revisions through in indecent haste, without consultation, and breaking existing agreements. You`ll know in your own DO how unworkable the carve-ups bolted on to other people`s walks are, but that`s ok with you? Personally, I strike and man the picket , not just to support my colleagues in RM, but to support the other striking workers in other industries up and down the country. I`m trying to protect working people`s rights, and not bow down in deference to Eton bully boys and criminals and their enablers just because they say so.

Do you cut off delivery at mid day on the 16th and start again after 12.30 on the 17th?.

No, it's duties starting after 1230 so your day will be 17th.
