Stay out and complete?

Our office has been told today that there is some clause in our contract that states on occassions we are expected to stay out due to the nature of the business? So the brief was we are expected to stay out 30 minutes and finish where need be. Can anyone shed any light on this? Some people have already been spoken to and actually shown the paragraph in the contract.

Sounds like 30 min flex. Where you can be ASKED to flex upto 30 mins if you are able to. Also have to get that 30 mins back by starting later or finishing earlier another day in same week

There was an agreement (I think it may have either been in BT2010 or earlier) that stated RM would like you to extend upto 30 mins a WEEK on a swings & roundabouts basis. Basically if you go over say on a Weds by 30mins you take back the time on a quieter day, perhaps Saturday.

It was optional & not compulsory.

Typical RM they have now chosen to serve notice & end all agreements, but somehow want to still cherrypick clauses etc that suits their agenda!

Just work your time/hours nothing more nothing less

Plus iirc it was supposed to be used for unforseen circumstances such as the mail lorry getting stuck in traffic on route and arriving late, not because you've had too much added on to your duty as a result of a s**t revision.

Sounds like we need more strikes next Christmas! we're meant to be in intense negotiations with ST and the rest of the board over a deal. But they go behind our backs with more executive action.

The SOP has always mean you inform management BEFORE you start tying up your frame of how much you can't get done if you feel you're unable to complete. This give management the chance to cover stuff on o/t. If they tell you to take everything out and do your best, you're are not committed to complete.

Ask for a copy of your contract and what section has this clause in.

Over the years rm make amendments to the contracts and so yours could be different to mine.

I recently asked for a copy of mine, just got a copy of my signature on a contract, there was no contract! ? By that i mean no details to what i was signing up to, 36 years ago

They can't enforce OT if it's not in your contract.
The 30mins thing came from pay&mod in 2007, you go over 30mins and you get it back in 7 days.
Trying to agree what day would be a challenge as they would want it on their terms.
