Rehab Hours?

Hi All,

I am looking to return to work after a Long Term Absence
with a bad back and am wondering what is the minimum amount of hours you can start on a Rehab Plan based on company policy?

Some people at my office are saying 2, others 4.

Last time I came back on rehab it was half a shift 6am till 10 am, or sometimes 5am until 9am, I'm full time.

I'm just thinking that surely there should be an official company answer/figure?

Whatever’s best for u thru occupational health should give your manager a guide of what should be done going forwards and your return to work agree the bare minimum and work upwards to your full hours ask for evaluations of progress at points so u can see how it’s going

Sounds right to me, I don't know if there's an agreed way? My manager was OK with me but some I've worked with told me how they'd been gently encouraged to do more than they should have. You may have come into contact with the royal mail Manager/doctor best to ignore them

So, I finally returned back to work last night after being off for over one year with lower back problems and taking with me a letter from my GP detailing a phased return to work, light duties and starting on a two hour shift....Basically a 'Fit to Work' certificate.

I left work after being there for roughly four hours.

My Return to Work Meeting was held pretty much as I was trying to leave the office to go home.

Which in the meeting I was told that 'The Business' would not accept my Doctor's Letter. It's either four hours start or nothing.

Great.

Now where do I stand?

Demand a referral to occupational heath for an assessment.
If they refuse, put in a grievance

Funny how they recently said they would only accept a doctors note and not self certificate otherwise they were not going to pay staff when off sick.
