Not so long back my delivery partner lost his pda on a loop, after a few minutes of back tracking and looking we contacted the office to see if they could locate it from their end,it came up as being in 3 different places at once :hmmmm we did find it one of the locations so maybe the system was playing best of 3

Mine actually stopped working in the summer because it was overheating….
Although the days of having a paper and pen and having to write every tracking number down wasn’t much better…

Not sure what it's like in other offices but our com every day is badgering about dead time or wasted time which equated to something like 8 minutes per postie.

Not good enough from the coms eyes but that's pretty good enough from the rest of us.

There will always be dead time with van shares. It’s the life they chose.

There's currently a move by some professional football players that their performance data is 'theirs', begs the question
do we have rights regarding the ownership and use of 'our' PDA outdoor actual data?

https://www.osborneclarke.com/insights/ ... onal-sport
....The claimants in Project Red Card (a group of over 400 current and former professional footballers threatening legal action against various organisations) are seeking a declaration that performance data is personal data under the UK and EU data protection legislation, and that any processing of this data must be done with the relevant player's consent. There are some complicated legal issues underlying this group action, including the question of who ultimately owns and/or has the rights to use the performance data....

8 minutes- LOL

Can you imagine the “dead time” most other jobs would have if it could be measured?! And dont get me started on our COM/linos!!!

What's PDA data got to do with it, they don't track you with it! :whistle :cuppa

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

But it does tell them the number of items being scanned.

Love those graphs - barely labelled with wildly varying data points generating an almost meaningless trendline. It's like a resident of Flatland lecturing you about moving in the third dimension.
