That’s Tommy rot because if you are not driving the van, it’s pointless for you to do the van check because it’s all about making you responsible if there is an accident.

Well I'll have a job on I havnt got a license besides, if one person (the driver) signs
For the keys then that person is responsible for the van

I found it hard to believe. I think they're trying it in readiness to put big parcels back on delivery and don't like the idea of someone having to wait for the driver when they could be doing parcels. Have phoned area rep but waiting for a reply.

Told that if there's an accident to sort it out between us who was driving. I had to check it wasn't April 1st

Arent most walker loops larger than the drivers anyway because driver is doing the big parcels for the loop?

Why would most of the walkers be back at van first? Why should they have the larger loops if they have to do parcels now too?

I'd imagine a few already do this, obviously assuming the "walker" can drive and actually work as a team, perhaps it could be worded a bit differently to something like if you want to share the driving you both have to do the vehicle check.

(At our office both have to sign for the van keys as each person has one)

in are office for years both people in the van do packets and walking...also told today that from monday we have to sign out at are time and not a minute b4

I don’t like it one bit. I’ve been hauled into the office because my Trimble said I’d driven at 32 in a 30. Guess what, I now slow down and usually drive at 27/28.

I’ve since done park and loops on the same street with the driver doing 40-45 in that same 30 zone.

I’m not having that argument about who was driving, trying to remember who was driving on a particular street, or even worse a dishonest colleague claiming I was driving when it was them.

I'm assuming if your partner can drive but doesn't drive for RM he or she can't be made to drive the van .. reason I ask, someone at our place who can drive but doesn't drive for RM asked the question a few weeks ago and was told by COM RM can't make you drive if you don't want to....

What happens if you go through a mobile speed trap and 2 weeks later the fine comes through?
You both say the other was driving.
Legally where do both of you stand?
No way will I be signing for any van if I'm not in complete control of it during the times I am legally responsible for it.
