Though the Conservative MPs on it are using the same old union tropes when Dave was in front of them.

I thought it was an act on Workplace, but know not so sure as he is using the same approach and same language, and guess what its not going down well.

I am not a fan of either the Union or Royal Mail management. However, Simon Thompson performed badly, Union came off relatively well this morning.

Simon Thompson was accused of misleading parliament and described as being disingenuous. Having fun with the chairs misunderstanding of PDA's, thinking it was a PVA, Thompson was denounced as playing fast and loose with the committee. Seeing as Royal Mail is a 500 year old British institution and part of critical national infrastructure, he is not the right person to be CEO of the company.

I honestly thought he said PDA at first, so I was very confused when he denied there was any such thing. You'd think he'd perhaps ask 'did you mean PDA?', but if the intent was to dodge every question then of course he rolled with having no idea what a PVA is. I did have a laugh at some of the committe's retorts:

Panel: 'When will it be fixed?'
Cylon: 'The near future.'
Panel: 'So you don't know, then.'

The system is called PCS (Production control system) it was built by Siemens in or around the year 2001 so it’s old and probably working on Windows 2000 so subject to cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The ransom note was printed out on all PCS printers at HWDC and other sites which have PCS installed . The backup was also infected with the lockbit 3.0 ransomware so it looks like export international will be down for a minimum of at least 4 weeks whilst Siemens rebuild the whole system , in the meantime not a dickie bird from Simon Thompson whilst RM lose customers to the competition . Something is afoot .

Do you know if it was because of a PLC? If so, it was likely an inside job...
