Failed duty!

Pi55ed right off, was on leave last week and came in this morning to work to be told that my duty failed all week! Only tracked and SD's got done, had 35 bundles for 2 and a 1/2 rows, DOM even took 1st half off me. SO many hospital letters, I remember one retired guy had a packet from hospital postmarked the 9th of Jan (my 1sr day off) oh and my school has a seond class letter that was postmarked 6th Jan,, my GP letters were left. Absolute shambles! Gonna be like Christmas tomorrow as I mop up the non tracked parcels on what should be a reasonable Tue! Went from failing one day only to the whole fecking week! (one employee off long term sick), disgraceful, makes me ashamed to be delivering important stuff a week late! One old dear had 23 letters!

Sorry, rant over, having a beer tonight to try and forget all the extra coming my way tomorrow!

Fuk me why couldn't they put someone on it instead of something else, alternate days would be bad enough, maybe do half of yours and half of another if not enough staff, did anything else get left undelivered, is your manager really that s**t?

Typical example of bad management who are on £40,000 a year , it really makes no sense to operate like that.
Maybe they are just trying pxss people off that much they walk out the door and never return?

Then how would they get their bonus?! Why fail two when you can fail one into oblivion?!

But apparently we only delivery rubbish? People use email? Letters are snail mail letters are old fashioned? People dont notice anymore if the postie dosnt come? Oh wait a minute, they are important, we do deliver letters that matter, people do notice......

Hasn't happened in recent months but this happened to me several times in previous years!

What pissed me off the most was they'd let my walk go for a week with nothing but the tracked delivered. But other walks where other people were off would be cleared. Common sense would have been to move the reserves around a bit so at least no walks were more than a couple of days behind?

This week we've had a small packet that's taken fifty days - just over seven weeks - from Scandinavia but 38 of those days - 5½ weeks - were in my local Mail Centre despite there allegedly not being any delays.
