If you've left the company and still getting paid when you're not supposed to be, you'll have to pay that money back sooner or later.

Then you are beyond mad if you have now actually left and haven't told them of the error - you WILL have to pay it all back when it comes to light, and knowing RM do not be surprised if you are charged adminstration fees for time spent dealing with it, AND interest for the outstanding monies taken but not earned.

Plus RM will recover thr gross amount from you. You will have the hassle of trying to sort things out with HMRC.

And RM will likely want it as one payment, rather than spread over a period of time as they would if you were a current employee, plus if you're tardy in paying it back they'll have no qualms in referring your case to the debt collectors.

I'm also waiting for my p45 , its almost like a manager hasn't processed my resignation .

I'm thinking of leaving although I'm a bit worried about getting a reference. Who gives the reference? If it's a manger that you don't get on with, that could cause problems with future employers. Does it have to come from your manager or can you request one from higher up?

I emailed thirdpartyenquiries@royalmail.com

They emailed me a consent form, that I needed to sign (data protection) so they could send a reference to my new employer.

Same thing happened to me when I left, when I contacted wages because I was still being paid they said that there was no notification by my manager of my resignation. They did bill me for the wages that I had been paid after I had left, and I did have to argue about the holiday that I was owed. Also they tried to charge me the union subs, so be aware. Once everything was sorted and I had repaid the money my P45 arrived.

I think others have posted on here before that the reference only states that you worked for Royal Mail and gives your start date and finish date of employment.
