Electric Vans and vehicles

I'm interested to hear replies from people who have used electric vans and especially micro electric vehicles. Lovely product shots but thin on actual use cases.

Seems like RM have Paxster Cargo and Ligier Pulse 4 in the fleet. Has anyone on here used these? Practice real-world use? How does/did it work out?

The current fleet seems a mix of manufacturers and this seems to be designed as a complex mess - the local DO garage with a range of models to support will have a headache. Standardising on a few modes of transport seems to be better but who knows how the electric fleet will end up.

I've only used the Peugeot e-partners and the Mercedes e-Vito. The pugs drive just like the diesel version with a decent range. The Vito is a dog to drive and the range is poor on a full charge!

I'd add fairly clean inside and out. Dropped a pen down the side of the driver's seat the other day. It was my mistake to try to retrieve it! The muck down there - horrible!

I'd add fairly clean inside and out. Dropped a pen down the side of the driver's seat the other day. It was my mistake to try to retrieve it! The muck down there - horrible!

I know, our fleet is an absolute disgrace. When you compare it to dpd, Amazon, ups, all the others that have their own vans, ours look like they're been dragged out a scrap yard. Why the word 'royal' is still on them (under the dirt) , is beyond me.

It's dated September 20, 2021 and states the trial is for six months and then a decision will be made - so the trials are concluded around March or April 2022. The trials were based in Edinburgh, Crewe, Liverpool, Swindon and London.

Guess things are delayed or something.

On the above points about disgusting vans, If they had allowed us to take the vans home mine would have been mint clean. Instead, they give us no time to clean the vans, treat us like s**t, hence the van's are too.

I used to have a regular van, kept it clean. Note, used to. Just get any old thing now. I hope the yard and toilets are two separate things.

Nothing like finding a bottle full of urine under the seat.......

I work at one of the trial offices for the electric buggies. For some reason not many people were actually trained to use them and as far as I'm aware they were taken away due to lack of use !. Don't know if this coincided with the end of the trial period though. I also believe it cost circa £25 thousand to put the four charging points in to accommodate these vehicles. White elephants is a polite expression that springs to mind.

That may explain the failure. Until they get that cost under control it almost looks like a non-starter!

In our DO they don't have space to park the vans never mind charge them!

All vans rapidly evolve into RM clown car specification within weeks of joining the fleet.
