The bag only has to be as heavy as you want it to be. I can break a loop down into three, into four, into five - whats the big deal if you know the walk?

Do you work on your own? A lot of these solutions are only possible if you and your work partner are in sync with a way of working. There is not a cat in hell’s chance that mine would wear splitting loops to make them easier.

This threads totally off topic now regarding it's title of annualised hours, all there is is a pointless argument of whether doing the job with a lwt trolley takes longer than racing about with a bag.

If a walk hasn't been out for 3/4 days then the bags for each loop are very heavy. You can take a trolley sure but if you want to continue to use bags just divide a loop by 2 or 3. It might take five minutes longer to tie up and bag but walking around with a very heavy bag slows you up as well so what you lose in the office you gain on the walk and you aren't busting your back. Some of us prefer bags to trollies.

When I signed for my current duty about 8years ago my partner who had been on it for a few years already had tweaked the loops into much more manageable loops than they originally were, so on a normal day, when there was such a thing, it's much easier to do. You dont really want to be swapping and changing loops on a daily basis, having said that in recent times people havnt had much option on many deliverys

There aren’t enough. If we all went into work tomorrow, insisting on an LWT each, my office alone would have to find over 40 of them. They’re like hens teeth.

A couple of years ago we all got brand new trolleys in our office,the old ones disappeared over time,the new ones have now all but gone, maybe 20% left, where the fxck they've all gone is anyones guess. I left ours in our usual van, had our day off and they'd gone along with our pouches

about six months ago as I was walking on a loop I saw another postie coming towards me about 100 yards away with a high viz and a pouch and I thought "they've got an agency guy mopping up? bit strange" - as we got closer I realised he was delivering leaflets and using one of our pouches!

that'll be like the 2010 national agreement that all reserves would be put on a rota to get every sixth Saturday off

In a dispute like this certain things are put on the table, knowing they'll be negotiated away. How would this pragmatically work? There'se guy in our office that without fail finishes about two hours early each day, how would it work with him? Has to work entire weeks for free when they clock it up at the end of the year? Equally there's people that go over each day, do they get weeks off when all their hours are totaled come the end of the year? They can make days shorter and longer I guess, but actually banking hours as has been suggesting previously would be virtually impossible to implement. Commit to deliver is a nonsense that'll be negotiated away, too. That's even if those things are actual proposals anyway. Some of this stuff comes from the union hoping to rile people up to generate support, and from trolls on the Internet looking to get a reaction.
