Ignoring the bit about staff saying they'll slow down, really? The assumption is every day is exactly the same and shouldnt deviate from what the computer says. That pretty much up sums management
The computer always knows what the road traffic is like, how many people will answer their door in 10seconds and stuff like that.........yawn. It's a real world out there, about time they used real world data not made up stuff. What happened to a manager actually following you to actually see?
For some places you can actually get real-time traffic data for the roads. On the website that I use to look up any roadworks that might affect us, it has an option to view real-time traffic data
I think you may have missed the sarcasm

They moan about us going slow but it's all the new introductions they brought in that have caused this, they of course don't consider this at all :arrrghhh the amount of time playing around with scanners and taking pictures even for things that would go straight through the letterbox a few years ago! then you double the time or more if its raining because the scanners won't work in rain.

Heston must be a lovely town.

Every one either at home or out every day, no change, no deviation.
Sounds swell.

It is nuts the level of “productivity” they seem to want from us, compared to other jobs. I have had deep chats with friends and family about their jobs and their average day, and im genuinely amazed at what ive heard.

Its not normal to expect someone to work a 8/9 hour day and be “at it” 100% of that time. There has to be room for manoeuvre, times when you can switch off. For too long ive slogged my guts out for this company but im only recently realising that it doesnt and should not have to be that way.

Anyone had their com go on about stoppages on delivery ffs how do you not stop at some point regarding writing p739, or back at van sorting loops?
It.s micro managing the job to make themselves look important. When people leave and are replaced with 40hr sunday working the revolving door employment will begin.
The knoledge will be lost and performance will be Evri style with complaints sky high.

I don't think that call rate is that far from truth! Whether it's striking, economy, self sabotage by the company or all three; mail volumes are WAY down, and there will be consequences of that.

Finger only.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Productivity! That's how those in charge think, not just in RM,couldnt believe the health secretary recently saying the nurses pay rise should be linked to increased productivity !! What right minded person thinks like that

Attitudes like what? That's not meant to be confrontational btw, just unsure what you're referring to

I read it as the same as a lot of posties at our place currently dragging their heels to defend against any change. I agree we should resist some change but if we have time to do things that make a company that pays us and and that a lot of us have shares in to be profitable then get on with it.
But maybe I misread the post

Well I suppose the people in my office that are 'dragging their heels against change do so because the change RM are wanting seems to be ruining what was a great business and could continue to be so . If people are dragging their heels to spin out their duty well the duties need to be addressed, having said that I can only go from the experience in my office where very few if any can make time other than the few bell ends that continue to work for nothing

Yep. We currently have time to do the extra cos of low traffic. That may be a sign of the times or self sabotage by turning away marketing contracts. Who knows
