What that translates to me is: come back on time. Then you won’t be hit by annualised hours.
How do you "come back on time" if you don't have the work to justify it?
Have we lost £1000+ to protect people who want to string it out and walk slower?

I thought trade unions were about doing a fair day's work for a fair day's pay?
The amount of people that don’t take breaks , don’t use the correct procedures or equipment this saving Royal Mail thousands of hours a week massively outstrips anyone “stringing it out”
How many walks are there where the walk is meant to use a golf cart type trolley but they don't? How much time difference does that typically make?
Probably the majority of park n loop duties were originally supposed to use a lwt in theory, it obviously takes time to get them in and out of the van but also they enable the user to accommodate some parcels that you'd have to stop and deliver from the van or alternatively they enable longer loops so saving on reloading/waiting/helping partner as you're never going to meet at the van at exactly the same time, so also saves time there.

To answer your last question, not much, using a lwt certainly doesn't make the duty time a lot longer as some on here might like to suggest.
Using Lwt certainly adds between 10/20 minutes per loops on my duty. Its just a fact. It is necessary to use one some days
(Most days now) to free the driver for parcels.
While driver delivers them, remember I am delivering his mail, D2D'S and small packets and tracked.
Using a lwt does add time to your duty. Anyone who says different either doesn't use one or is a manager.

Agreed, although it does seem some duties are more than doable than others if people are having to string them out , I wish

I don't know how many loops you have but say it's 6 at 10mins a loop, that's 1hr that you've saved for the screw, giving scope to add some to the duty

I'm not a manager and I use a LWT. It doesn't add significant time to an overall delivery. Yes loops perhaps take a few minutes longer, BUT you can take more items in the bags die to not carrying them on shoulder so can take borderline oversized as well that you wouldn't take it carrying bag on shoulder, so you don't need to drive round with van to deliver these items. It is swings and roundabouts.

Your post doesn't make any sense.
You say using the lwt adds 10/20 minutes per loop but then you state that you are also doing your partner's loop.
So it is doing your partner's loop that adds 10/20 minutes and not the lwt.

I use an lwt. It doesn't add any time to the duty. I am not a manager. Perhaps you might like to check the rules of using this site. I am frankly sick and f***ing tired of people accusing anyone with a difference of opinion of being a manager. Grow up FFS.

No,it's not the partners loop adding those extra minutes. Using a lwt adds between 10/20 per loop that on both loops mine and my partners each loop...it's not hard to grasp.

If the LWT isn't used, then that saves 10mins per loop, which is 10mins x the number of loops, the savings the screw is making. That then gives scope for more time to be taken out the office

I use a lwt in a van share. On the first two loops I take all mail and small packets in bags on my trolley. While I do these two loops my partner does all packets/parcels over shoe box size or awkward shape. It usually works out that it takes about 45/60 mins for each of us so works out well. I use the lwt all the time when the mail is heavy or when I have a lot of packets. I never cross gardens in any case. The biggest issue is getting a good lwt and keeping hold of it. There is a huge mangled pile of them in the corner of our yard.

That's what I thought clash, I've found that if you've got a lwt with two bags on it as opposed to just one over your shoulder then you can accommodate a few parcels that otherwise would have had to be driven to their destination, I'm not a manager either.

I've found doing mini loops is the most efficient way of delivering.

every round is different , some have 10 loops others have 6
some have rounds that LWT are useful and others not.
some have loops on level ground and some on a shingle beach.
all this LWT or bags debate is a waste of time , yes some loops are useful having a LWT and others its best having a bag.
Plus regards large parcels on P/L one does 20 mins driving delivering parcels whilst the partner has a 20 min break in the passenger seat and visa versa .
Works for us and no squabbles .
Whats the problem ??
