New for Tracked - "Can't be safeplaced/neigboured"

Well today, I had a redelivery on a Tracked packet that I couldn’t deliver the first time as the PDA had expressly told me not to leave under any circumstances.

I normally leave parcels in this customer’s porch because she works. Again, the PDA told me not to leave it. So I didn’t.

Both times I wrote on the form that the item couldn’t be left in the safe place.

Customers are going to complain about this because it’s annoying for them.

Well technically the customer is the sender, and theyre the ones telling you not to leave it.

I can’t tell them that because they’re out.

They obviously have no clue that the item is arriving with such stipulations regards delivery because they wouldn’t request a redelivery when they were still going to be out.

The tracking app should tell them this info when they are organising a redelivery.

I repeat for your benefit - will it flag up both requests to the postie at once or will one request override the earlier one. All I commented was that it would be interesting to see.

I think we got to the bottom of it quite a few posts back, it appears that this applies to items that have been purchased/created through eBay's postage system, so I don't think it would be possible to specify a safe place, I know I've never had that option when buying anything on eBay, what might be interesting is when you get the tracking number whether it's possible to do an inflight and specify safe place etc, I'd suspect you can't.

That's never been an issue in the past, on virtually every Tracked item there's usually the option to leave the parcel in a safe place. Although oddly I've had not be of these this week so far.

We have been told it was a glitch with postage purchased on eBay, it’s been fixed now but if we get anymore just to safe place/leave with neighbour like normal.

Strange because I read and replied to your post a few days after it was posted? Ok.

How the PDA software deals with it is of no concern to you or I. If we get a tracked and the message not to leave it safe or with neighbour comes up then we follow that instruction! If the other message overrides it and allows you the option to leave safe or with a neighbour then you can leave with a neighbour or in a safe place. It's hardly rocket science.

It was in the last edition of RM's propaganda rag referring to Capture Photo on Delivery:

...the service will be extended for Tracked Signature and Special Delivery Guaranteed items at the end of January 2023.
This will also include Age Verification and ID Verification products.
