Re: Annualised hours
I was told about 6 years ago if the office don't start doing things by the book everything that's happening now would happen. So I look at it this way I'm not going slower and dragging my feet I'm just not rushing.people in our office where still in the mindset of job and finish.,but only now are they realising. And only just before the strikes postman in different offices where still rushing and cutting corners .These same people have been with royal mail for over 20 years always thinking if there is a full re- pick they would still get the first pick.but they will have to absorb the walks because there still getting back an hour early

Re: Annualised hours
Hard to put an definitive figure on it and remember that all park and loop duties are meant to use them unless they’re risk assessed for flats and such but anything upwards of at least 30 mins but depending on the type of walk , it could be an hour.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 10:12How many walks are there where the walk is meant to use a golf cart type trolley but they don't? How much time difference does that typically make?Pidleypoo wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 09:39The amount of people that don’t take breaks , don’t use the correct procedures or equipment this saving Royal Mail thousands of hours a week massively outstrips anyone “stringing it out”clashcityrocker wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 09:22How do you "come back on time" if you don't have the work to justify it?
Have we lost £1000+ to protect people who want to string it out and walk slower?
I thought trade unions were about doing a fair day's work for a fair day's pay?
Carrying heavy bags on your back and cutting across gardens and so on isn’t something you can do with a lwt.
After the attacks on our jobs , I’ve no idea why anyone is doing anything other than the correct procedures.

To add, all this goes back 30 plus years before we were even a private company. Plans were way back then (before technology) that everybody indoor and outdoor were going to have work every minute they worked each dayKilledOff wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 17:49Absolutely yes!mafiaman wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 16:04I was told about 6 years ago if the office don't start doing things by the book everything that's happening now would happen.
Quite rightly too really as a business though, hence the CWU pushing 'do the job properly' ever since!
Nobody including myself really listened.

Re: Annualised hours
My mentality to this job. I only go at one single pace and not changed the moment I started. That way, it cannot be used against me at any point if confronted by managers. The number of people in the office that are still using every opportunity to cut corners and go home early in the "job and finish" mood is laughably bad. Was amused when the same people were basically contesting to the signing in and signing out system, trying to see for any holes they can worm their way out from. The company has no interest in what goes on outside of work long as it doesn't effect the job or cost them money.mafiaman wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 16:04I was told about 6 years ago if the office don't start doing things by the book everything that's happening now would happen.

Don't understand all these posters claiming loads of people in their office are going home early. Did they not have revisions last year or what?
In our office it's just not possible. Duties are too big.
There's one or two, on occassional light days, but that's it.

Revision hasn’t been done in our office - which is a large one - yet. It just keeps getting bumped along the road.

Re: Annualised hours
We had our first resign two years ago but since then no revisions whatsoever. s**t load of people are just leaving because had enough of the bullshit. Can't blame them. People heading out when you haven't even throw in a single letter, for management to state to you "make sure you are not back early". Or, sometimes ask you to take the left missorted parcels people leave behind cuz they have long gone. Not rushing around like a f***ing idiot, especially now having to cover more rounds now in even less time compared to barely managing to finish on your time when it was 38. It's those ones that finish early that moan the loudest when managers ask them to cover work for them so majority of time they don't even bother chasing them up. Its stupid they don't even think people pay attention to these things.

Re: Annualised hours
37. But the numbers on that are dwindling and barely anyone, if anyone, gets to be made up beyond 35. Some went from 30 to 35 early last year by agreeing a new contract, but it was a handful. They keep stalling changes by saying ‘the revision is happening in a couple of months’, as if that is the answer to any issues, but they’ve been saying that for years now.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑11 Jan 2023, 20:37So you are still 38 hours?
