The CWU in Leeds MC were told today that they will be job losses of 127 F/T & 36 P/T.
81 temporary F/T back to P/T & 32 F/T & 14 P/T fixed term contracts ceased. All Xmas casuals have signed up to Angard. One 2 one's to start Monday.

I go into Leeds on a semi regular basis & have a few mates there. I appreciate there are three shifts, but that seems a high number. Is it just the MC staff or are the distribution & collection staff included in this?

Yes, these will be voluntary most probably.

Yes, they were in mine and our 1-2-1 meetings started last Monday .

Similar numbers to Leeds at North West Midlands were announced on one of the CWU broadcasts late last year.

You would have to give them a redundancy payment about 7 months max dependent on age and service. VR is just another term and will result in the same outcome. This a legal minimum like the minimum wage!
