I’ve had a days pay taken off me for last week. No idea why
So have i, no idea what for either, assumed i'd already been deducted for all the strike days i've taken. They're not deducting the adjusted annual leave from our pay are they???

Doing a quick calculation,14 strike days at 7hr 24 per day equals a loss of 11 hrs 57 min off your yearly leave entitlement.
This based on 222 hours ie 6 weeks entitlement.

Sadly it is. Two separate and unrelated issues.

Yes. If you had 47 weeks off unpaid you wouldn’t get your 5 weeks of annual leave.

Yes, it's an extra 51.5 minutes for every strike day if you're full time and you get full 6 weeks entitlement. So time being money, it's about a tenner more per strike day that they're taking away. Something the CWU should really have pointed out as they knew it would happen.

Amazing, you can be deducted leave for strike days but don’t accrue leave when you cover days off and do overtime.

Another double standard in favour of our betters.

Strange logic on show there. You get paid for O/T, but you want leave accrual as well?

If they want to take AL hours for strike days they should give a bit extra if you work a day off or just pay a better OT rate to compensate…
