But I thought Thompson et al are desperate for RM to be like Evri/DPD/Amazon!!!! So we've now got a situation where these guys are chucking stuff out of a vehicle window onto a rain soaked path where it's likely to continue raining for the next few hours and yet we're offering a service encouraging senders to opt out of leaving it in an enclosed porch/garage or neighbours. Basically two situations at odds with themselves, we are either striving to be like these other "super couriers" or we're not. Which is it Thompson?

I personally think it's a good idea, stops some from leaving it anywhere, I get parcels which need a signature left in outside cupboard from royal mail, never have I asked the post person to leave it there. They are just rushing to finish early. They might have to review there options for closing callers office.Has personally I would rather collect the item if I am not in.

No problem, I thought, the shop a few units down might take it.

Sure thing, they said.

Then, when I scanned the box (as we are supposed to scan the item at its actual destination) it said "Under no circumstances should this item be left with a neighbour".

I wasted my time going there and I wasted their time asking them.

Then I am left standing holding a heavy box with nowhere to deliver it.

Not being funny here but you're saying you don't want RM leaving a parcel in a cupboard for you, but what about the other lot who chuck stuff
anywhere ie: over the gate, up the path, up next doors path and all the time it's raining so that the thing is disintegrating before you get home.

As for the comment on rushing to finish early then I can't see how that happens anymore with SISO. If SISO is being used but ignored in offices then those people, posties and managers alike are storing up massive problems for themselves in the the coming months.

Don't forget we're in uncharted waters now, none of us can say for sure what EA we'll all be hit with over the next couple of months. With anything that could be a potential disciplinary, it's best to tread carefully now. For RM is they can get rid of someone on a disciplinary rather than VR that's money saved for them. Don't make yourself easy pickings for that

i understand and agree with you.in the past ive grabbed a special scanned it then realised its not that one deleted it then scanned and delivered the correct one,Nobodys ever mentioned anything but then again ive not had any go missing or a complaint (yet) but i agree we need to play safe.On that note my partner door stepps everything puts stuff in bins signs for specials and somehow still gets away with no complaints,matter of time though.

My COM just told me it's when when the PDA beeps. i.e when it's scanned.

Had this conversation with manager last week. He says it's recorded from where you 1st scan, not when you hit submit. He also requested we don't scan while walking to the address but when we're actually at the door for this reason

It's what a previous Dom told me so presumed it was correct, out of interest I'm going to try and test it tomorrow by scanning something then having a look at track an item on the RM app, I'll report back on here if I'm successful either way.

Whenever a DoR comes through the complaints system it generally says at the end to remind the postie that the location and time data is gathered when first scanned, not when submitted
