Annual leave reduction.

If I recall correctly then tomorrow is the day those of us involved in strike action are to lose some of our annual leave.
There's not been much said lately about this. Are the company still going ahead with this as planned? Is it legal? Or is it all just RM puffing their chest out?
I believe if you've been out on strike on every occasion, i.e. none have fallen on your days off, then the loss is just over two days. ( Although with the infinite number of shift patterns we work what is a normal day?)

You will my friend. You will. The tossers have someone especially who checks the thousands on strike making sure of it. I never had the 2 in August deducted and eventually I lost them in October.

The last 2 days are due to be deducted from either this week's or next week's pay.

Yes, they will go ahead with it as planned and yes it is legal. Basically, when you are on strike it's an unpaid unauthorised absence and when you are not paid you stop accruing annual leave. So, they are not taking the leave off of us, we haven't earned it - is the easiest way to explain it.

I agree it is a great article, as well as agreeing with his sentiment as well and his ideology, I agree the tories need to go, but I don't remember Blair & Brown re-privatising BT, British Gas, the electricity boards or British Rail, whilst lining their own pockets!

By the time Labour get in power it will be too late, RML/IDS will have been split up and sold off, the government will be left with a load of knackered vans, worn out staff and a load of management jumping ship looking for the next Bisto train pulling in to platform 1!

As part of the normal quarterly review of unpaid absence, annual leave entitlements will be adjusted in January to reflect the number of days that colleagues have been absent due to industrial action. In broad terms, for a full time colleague, this equates to a reduction of 0.5 days annual leave for every 5 days of unpaid absence.

• For colleagues who participate in every strike day, this means nearly 2 days of annual leave will be lost.

If they have annual leave still to take this year, this will be deducted from their outstanding leave entitlement.

If they have used all their leave, this will be deducted from their entitlement in 2023/24.

These changes will be automatically calculated and adjusted in PSP based on individual pay records so there is no action for managers to undertake.

You would have thought that she'd known that PSP calculates/handles AL in hours. The hours per day vary depending on that day of the week it is

What if you've purchased annual leave, how can they differentiate the entitled to the paid for when coming up with these deductions?

Interesting : let's say that someone has used their full entitlement pre strikes, would they then owe from next lot of leave?
