With a General Election in just over 12 months that Labour are almost certain to win, very much doubt the current lot realy care. As long as they have taken the final piece of meat off the bones.

Could you have a general election without a fully functioning postal industry? Polling cards and election material are a vital part of the election and without us, who will deliver all that crap?

This is true. I hate to say this, but Labour ain't the lifeboat everyone is hoping for. Its makes me worry for what will come along to replace them, when we've had 4yrs of not much better, and overwhelming disappointment.

Isn’t everyone against strikes because strikes represent a failure of negotiations? That’s what Labour are saying and that they wouldn’t refuse point blank to talk and negotiate.

Interesting paragraph, in an article full of them:

Keith Williams, Royal Mail’s chairman, has suggested that the core parcels and letters business could be separated from GLS at some point. Analysts believe GLS would be worth up to £4 billion as a standalone entity. The market capitalisation for the entire group — last year renamed International Distributions Services (IDS) — stands at £2 billion, implying a negative value for Royal Mail.

Absolutely no way GLS is worth that much. Not without a UK distribution arm and not without - I suspect - Royal Mail international kicking work over to them.

If DPD needs a trucking company in Belgium - for whatever reason - there are cheaper ways of getting one.

My thoughts exactly; love or hate Rico. His still a big successful fish in the logistics industry. His called out the RM board for being grossly incompetent, especially ST. This is a big deal, people will listen, especially the investors.

He is simply stating the bloody obvious.
Thompson and the entire string of cronies he has in place, including new delivery office managers, have not the slightest understanding of the industry.

To simply override the Union was a huge mistake.

The CWU have historically been far to agreeable with the company, a trait the company has now squandered.

The article from Rico Back is significant. He criticises Royal Mail’s agenda in terms of talks, strategy and the £400 million Royal Mail paid the shareholders.

Bearing in mind Rico Back is still one of the biggest shareholders and the founder of GLS to criticise Royal Mail and Thompson in particular is significant and shows that there is unrest amongst the shareholders over the long running dispute.
