Disgusting
As a rep I am utterly disgusted with the actions of the people supposedly running Royal Mail, after weeks of managers putting pictures of empty delivery offices and empty mail centres we are being flooded by yorks and Yorks of Xmas cards, we had some from the 10th December yesterday, how dare they blame the strikes for delaying the mail when they have been clearly hiding it somewhere, when I quizzed my com about it he claimed he knew nothing (usual answer), quite frankly it’s embarrassing trying to explain to a customer why their 1st class letter has taken over two weeks to arrive, I personally even had a reminder for a hospital appointment arrive before the appointment letter! And finally, will all you arse kissing managers stop saying team before and after everything you post on workplace, Simon doesn’t care about you and it’s not impressing him, it makes you all look desperate to impress, sorry rant over!!

Re: Disgusting
The managers are chasing their bonuses. It is pretty pathetic. Telling people who arrive back early to not put any mech into their frame ready for the next day, is a manager chasing their bonus. He can claim ‘clear’. They’re no longer doing what is best to get the mail moving, but what is best for their pockets. Shame on them.

Re: Disgusting
Anything along these lines needs to be recorded with time and date, photographed if possible along with names of managers responsible and escalated.

Re: Disgusting
I am in the processing letter room and was also really upset on Wednesday when I went in to find yorks of letters that had very obviously been stored somewhere, dated from the 15th December. They were all smelly, damp, bent and pockmarked. I was really upset by this but as with other people on this forum I did not get any answers and I just felt really ashamed sending these letters out in such state! I as you all do take pride in their work and I just felt so downhearted by this and the management reaction was that they really didn’t care, I am sure they know more than they are letting on, I feel embarrassed for them as well to be honest!

Does anyone report these things to Ofcom or whatever it is? Or is that pointless?

Re: Disgusting
I don't really understand what's disgusting about there being delays relating to strikes - you people expected there to be no delays?
What's disgusting is that Royal Mail are running a 5 day letters and standard parcels service out of our large office and have been for 16+ months whilst fobbing off Ofcom with 'it's covid' and whilst charging the customer for a service they are not getting.
I hope Panorama are secretly making a documentary about this absolute con.

Re: Disgusting
A bit harsh, your colleagues are saying it's disgusting that the RM hierarchy/management have been blatantly putting
out media stories that workplaces were clear and by implication all mail had been delivered when it was possibly being
'stored'.

The managers are definitely all arse kissers . All " yes " men terrified of disagreeing with any superior manager for fear of standing out form the rest .Clairedarep wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 04:16As a rep I am utterly disgusted with the actions of the people supposedly running Royal Mail, after weeks of managers putting pictures of empty delivery offices and empty mail centres we are being flooded by yorks and Yorks of Xmas cards, we had some from the 10th December yesterday, how dare they blame the strikes for delaying the mail when they have been clearly hiding it somewhere, when I quizzed my com about it he claimed he knew nothing (usual answer), quite frankly it’s embarrassing trying to explain to a customer why their 1st class letter has taken over two weeks to arrive, I personally even had a reminder for a hospital appointment arrive before the appointment letter! The removal of general managers has exacerbated this. Now you have individual manager’s of each division within an office, operating their own fiefdom, with no general manager to tell them to get a grip.

Re: Disgusting
Yesterday I got 10 letters some from 15th December including one from Steven Thompson asking us not to strike, kinda late really, some christmas cards and my stamps.
