It's a shame redlen can't see your posts. Unfortunately, anything that directly contradicts his 'facts' is completely invisible to him.

Only sees what he wants to see - definitely sounds like a successful career in management awaits.

As we near the holidays and prepare for another 2 days of action i got to thinking how this is going to resolve itself. Royal Fail and Simple Slyman are seemingly just going to keep ignoring our action until their grand master plan comes to fruition, or are they? I can see small glimmers every now and then that somebody is starting to take notice and i fancy thats the only way we get a half decent result. The general public is our only hope and once they are stirred they would have the power to shift even the most stubborn government into action, people aren't stupid but they cant see what we see everyday. Its slowly travelling into the media what they are doing in terms of quality of service and the apparent attempt to change how we work. I find it almost impossible to believe that any of the revisions will be anything but unworkable with no chance of ever completing in your time, which in turn will lead to part duty failures on a regular basis, so not only do they want the 6 day delivery done away with they wont even be able to honour the 5 day. Beggars belief how these idiots got to where they are in life as my grandchildren could do as good a job but there you go. Now i am no left wing tory hater but i have seen this a few times when you let these fools into power for to long, they become comfortable and greedy and think they are untouchable, but we can change that by standing our ground and shouting no until we get the result we deserve, we have come to far to back down now so stay strong and support your union. Rant over, a merry Christmas to you all and your families and i hope you all enjoy the festive season.
It does not beggar my belief at all Royal Mail can't sort anything out. Before Blair in his wisdom decided everyone needed a university education this country had problems but functioned. Some people became postmen but with hard work and common sence we got on in life. Now there's a whole country of university "" educated "" people who are lazy , stupid and never done a proper day's work ever. The obsession of higher education and politics is , blokes who like to dress as women and the weather. That's their sum total of sorting the world's problems
Fix the weather and let some bloke use the woman's toilets. Postmen used to be PHGs then managers long standing. They knew the jobs , changes needed and problems. Not any more. The whole country is a mess. Its all down to the education system.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/20 ... reme-court
Union leaders say that employers are increasingly threatening to terminate workers’ contracts – leaving those workers with the choice of leaving their job or signing up to a worse deal – rather than attempt to reach an agreement with the employees or their union.

Neil Todd, a trade union specialist at the solicitors which is representing the workers, said: “We are delighted to have been given permission by the supreme court to proceed with this important case. The fight against fire and rehire is a pivotal one for the whole trade union movement.”

A ruling by the supreme court would be the final say on the matter with no further option for appeal.

The government has argued that companies in serious financial difficulty must have the option of offering staff new jobs if the alternative is closure. However, an analysis by the Observer found that nearly 70% of firms engaging in the practice were making a profit.

Is Thompson destroying the company so he can fire and rehire..... is that criminal?

When is this court case with USDAW going ahead. It could scupper his plans.

Been doing this since October 2021. My own little protest. I never drop my standards but don’t do anything extra. Took the managers a while to stop asking me to do overtime, but they got the message in the end.

I wonder this too. So much good faith has been lost. So much trust and this notion that we are all in it together, has been set on fire.

Hard to imagine it coming back.

I honestly don't think management cares about that although they bloody well should do . Without us all on side this company will steadily slide down the toilet .

We’re building up to a General Strike now I imagine.

And it could well be that a change of government is the only thing that can set the board off course with it’s plans anyway?

A change of government is a game changer, the tories want to destroy this union all Unions tbh its part of their ethos look at P&O they are hand in glove with the parasitical big business lowlife scum that want drive down pay and condition for normal working people so they can get higher profits for the tiny percentage at the very top, a labour government while not perfect by any means at lest will be concern with things like the USO which might protect some jobs, they will at least honour workers rights which is part of their ethos, at the moment the board and Thompson have a green light to do whatever they like, no government, regulator, agreements is there to stop them , personally I think a labour government would be more in our favour

I think this will have a huge psychological impact on a lot of people's work ethic and drive and paranoia about job security in any future jobs people will have, let alone while they are at RM, people will be just inclined to do their duty to an acceptable standard, by the rule book and nothing more. Meanwhile, managers will have a tough
time trying to implement the changes, resulting in many of them leaving

We have just seen our new resign without any union input . We can already see there are mistakes galore . We can't wait until it all starts because it should be fun .
