I've posted this elsewhere, but i've spent the past two weeks dealing with trackable items across the board - collections from businesses, Post Office collections, even parcel collect on the doorstep - where items posted on the 2nd and 3rd December weren't even being scanned into Mail Centres until the 20th December.

So one of two things has to have happened

1 - in the space of two days they cleared a 17 day backlog of mail, not just from the mail centres but from the delivery offices as well

2 - 17 days of mail is being stored somewhere, either warehouses/backs of lorries or even just being driven up and down the motorways

Since 1 is functionally impossible, it has to be 2 - 17 days worth of mail (including two strike days in those 17 days, to make the backlog even bigger) doesn't just get processed in two days, not without some major shenanigans or quite literal magic.

The sorting machines can only process so much mail in a given time span.

If they are hiding it, and I definitely believe they are, are they not accountable, is it not fraud/wilfully delay, or even corruption....surely ofcom should be involved here. There must be some network drivers on here know where its all been put, it can't just vanish into thin air, and it certainly hasn't been delivered,,,,there's mountains of it.

Mate, Ofcom are bloody useless . I wouldn't rely on them to do anything about it .

It's not hiding anywhere it's all back at the DO's, I understand rounds which normally have two trays of Met post a day now have up to 10 trays of Met post in our DO waiting to be prep'd.

Does she mean before the strikes that hadn’t happened yet or was she not aware of the strikes before she sent it?

She sent it smack bang in the middle of strike dates….

Hopefully they allow us to run them through the CSS machines over a number of days, as it stands from the start of next week, we'll no longer be allowed to roll over any left-over mech to the next day. we'll have to send it out as manual no matter how many boxes there are left over. There's only enough time on wave 2 to walk sort 3-4 boxes max per batch
