We have an aging full time workforce the majority of newer staff are on 30 hours or less.

There would be no reason for the majority to sign newer contracts with less pay and poorer T&Cs. The Majority of people wouldn’t want to work for Royal Mail especially with all the negative press from the industrial action.

Like others have said new contract sign or loose your job il be signing nothing,they have to give you a timeframe with Asda it was 6 weeks so il be looking elsewhere if it happens...which it won't.

It’s not that easy to declare bankruptcy even if separated from GLS.
Creditors would demand the selling of all the property throughout the Uk, there would literally be nothing left to run.

I’ve had a manager tell me, (when I was expected to take 4 days mail out), that legally 16kgs is what I can carry so take it out.

Back in the old days , that was the maximum weight , of the first bag only. Every subsequent pouch was 11kg.
I think Aiden means why aren't you using a trolley, as you do not need to carry.

Let’s be honest, they aren’t going bankrupt, they have to keep the share price down so kretinsky can buy it at the cheapest possible price in jan/feb, he bought 11 million worth of shares two days ago, it made the share price rise a little so to counter that you have to release doom stories to get it back down, it’s market manipulation, I’m not sure if it’s legal but when the government stand to gain from it they turn a blind eye

Not all managers care about the physical safety of us. They want the mail cleared, they know the max weight, and they don’t care about the rest. Some people can get away with arguing with such a manager but not everyone can.

In fact the relevant national agreement states something like - "the use of the correct equipment will be mandatory"
