International special?
Been waiting on this one a while, an Xmas present… it’s been received and transferred through Langley and has reached the local MC today.
In normal circumstances this means il have it tomorrow guaranteed. Obviously it’s a strike day tomorrow - will it reach my local DO (in which case il go down and get it myself), or will it be stuck in the MC for a few days? It’s an important one so any help or advice would be great

Re: International special?
You can't go down tomorrow. Its a strike day, the office isn't open.
Best to stay home and wait for a manager to turn up with it.
I hope that you receive it.
Good luck.

Re: International special?
What kind of priority will international special be given though? I thought offices or at least some were open strike days and just managers were there and the odd strikebreakers?

Re: International special?
I didn't think there was such a thing as an international special any more.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

No we gave up on them here, probably be in a sleeve of the 1c/2c stuff the company don’t want to deliver anymore.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑23 Dec 2022, 19:55I didn't think there was such a thing as an international special any more.

Re: International special?
Ah. We always still get them with our specials and they count toward our special total on delivery. Maybe you are right though.

Re: International special?
No caller's office are open on strike days - they used to be but not this series. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=100690&start=435
If they were you would technically be crossing a picket line, which is a personal decision, but not one I would contemplate.Royal Mail has well-developed contingency plans, but we cannot fully replace the daily efforts of our frontline workforce. We’ll be doing what we can to keep services running, but we’re sorry this planned strike action is likely to cause you some disruption. Our Customer Service Points will also be closed on strike days. Please do not try to collect your item on these days. They will reopen the next working day after strike action.

Re: International special?
Not here they don’t. They come in the mixed sleeves and are slung into the walks Mini York, no scan no anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if half our blokes deliver them with no scan either.BenacreNick wrote: ↑24 Dec 2022, 08:12International Specials remain as Specials through the system.

Nope. They go through the system as Tracked. They ceased being classed as specials earlier in the yearBenacreNick wrote: ↑24 Dec 2022, 08:12International Specials remain as Specials through the system.

As above two quotes, they're supposed to be treated as though they're tracked but they don't get a RFD scan at our place as the manager didn't inform anyone, I only found out because I read it on here a while back.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑24 Dec 2022, 10:04Not here they don’t. We still get foreign "specials" on Monday for some reason.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑24 Dec 2022, 13:08

We have never been told to scan them as RFD. (In fact some of my colleagues no longer scan the Tracked as RFD either.)
