Our MC sent yorks and yorks of unsorted manual letters to "Preston" the other day. We presumed it was code for hiding them somewhere.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday an extraordinary amount of all types of mail seemed to disappear either due to....
a) The exceptional hard work and diligence of a well managed and 100% committed staff, or...
b)shenanigans
If its a) then we definitely won't see loads of mail with horizon/meter dates from middle of December arriving in Jan.
Unless there's a huge warehouse fire somewhere over Xmas obviously.
So unless these MCs have suddenly cleared 17 days worth of mail (especially bearing in mind two of those were strike days) i'm calling BS.
My theory - they're all in the back of rented lorries (so no RM markings) parked up somewhere to avoid anymore embarrassing photos like those of Bristol appearing in the papers.

I think it's all smoke and mirrors . A cynic would say management have found some extra storage space somewhere . I wouldn't be surprised that after Christmas all that mail will mysteriously reappear .

An old trick is to stick the excess mail on the back of lorries and send them around the M25 . That way it's in transit and doesn't appear on anybody's figures .rambo1 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2022, 17:12Security risk???Minischoles wrote: ↑22 Dec 2022, 14:49There's definitely some bullshit going on somewhere - i've seen tracking numbers of items picked up from Post Offices/Collections, even Parcel Collects on the doorstep that were picked up on the 2nd December and weren't even scanned into an MC until the 20th December.FOST wrote: ↑22 Dec 2022, 13:54Anyone on here from Preston MC?

AMAZING !! Anyone noticed how clean the areas are ?
Interest that !!
If you go on current jobs page re Royal Mail 137 vacancies
40 of them cleaning jobs !!!
Law of Averages would tell you IMPOSSIBLE FOR 98 DEPOTS TO LOOK LIKE THAT re the fact we cant find cleaners for love nor money !!!!
I know 2 Depots if they lucky in Cardiff not clear and unlikely to be until early January
I stated in previous post i reckon last Xmas cards be around 2nd week in JANUARY re delivery
Notice none of the 98 names Why ?????????????
Quick enough to name and list the worst 100 Performing depots sometime ago
I have doubts there a single delivery office in UK clear
If i wrong Please name your depot and be proud you clear-but as I say i dont think there is a single one
Please prove me Wrong

I am on the edge of the south west and I've had two letters in the past two weeks. No Xmas cards and still waiting for some e bay stuff which was posted 17 days ago. It will all unravel after Xmas when people get the stuff that is not prioritised and start asking questions . Then we'll see what Ofcom do.

What's more believable, that the Mail Centres all cleared 18 days worth of post in the space of 2 days, or that there's a mountain of post being stored somewhere less visible than a mail centre car park?

Our office was cleared today, as apparently were other local offices, the rumour being all recent mail was sent to the RC for stoage, after Christmas we'll be swamped with mail but will have no choice but to deliver it as the CWU haven't announced anymore strike dates, ST & Co are running rings around the CWU as within a couple of weeks most DO's will be clear and Christmas long forgotten by the general public, who's then going to care if we're on strike again in late January?

Exactly. How will they explain away the early December cancels dropping on doormats mid-late Jan?!?timbo1234 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2022, 19:48I am on the edge of the south west and I've had two letters in the past two weeks. Someone should screenshot these pictures and send them to the press… because I can guarantee there will be plenty of people going to delivery office tomorrow and Saturday trying to get stuff that hasn’t been delivered.
