I wish you luck with your attempts to try and garner sympathy for agency staff and your effort to turn it into a divisive attack on the CWU.

Everyone needs a hobby.
Actually we are talking about Angard staff who are Royal Mail employees. Angard is a Royal Mail group company without a substantive contract for their workers. In other words, work colleagues.

Seems all pigs are equal, but some pigs more equal than others

How would you feel with compulsory redundancy if it was agreed last in first out?
Are Angard paid directly by RM? If so they are employees and covered by all the same rules and entitlements as posties. If not then they are agency . You seem to be confused. The Angard staff are used as required. Do they wear a RM uniform? I only see them in hi viz.

Another area of your highly qualified expertise ???? You must have employment law qualifications by the bucket load. Barrack room lawyers.

Actually regular Angard workers after 12 weeks are entitled to the same prescribed contractual benefits as contracted staff under the Agency Workers Regulations.

So covered by all the same contractual rules and entitlements as posties

Might I suggest you at least try Google before commenting, saves egg on face

Yes they have agency conditions whatever they are. They are not directly employed by RM. If you are not paid directly by RM you are not employed by them. That is the way all agencies work. They may be security vetted etc but if RM want them to come in to work they can refuse and have a day off. Posties can't. I think you need to get qualified in employment law before stating your opinion as fact.

The Agency Workers Regualtions are UK law, might I suggest you make yourself avaliable and read it before commenting further on personal opinions.

And look at the contractual difference between Employee and Worker as a hint

Don’t get me wrong, redphlegm does make some interesting points at times but when every post involves him/her bashing the workers and/or union you have to wonder what his/her motivation is.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Royal Mail don't just use Angard, they also use Manpower and probably several other agencies.

Please Google ‘discussion forum meaning’ before taking the time to tell people to cease discussing.

This poster continually posts the same messages, almost word for word. They continually states opinion as fact, and any contrary posts, are eventually met as the discussion being shut down. I think 'Stalinist' was used to describe us yesterday.

He's been pushing this line that the CWU are somehow not in support of agency staff being made into permanent RM staff on the same pay and terms, for a few days, I'm aware of. This is simply a false narrative, there are no plans being put forward to create jobs. Redundancies are what is on the cards, and regardless of whether they're voluntary or compulsory, it is a reduction of permanent staff, whilst temporary staff who require no holiday pay, no sick pay, no pension contributions and can be sent home in the blink of an eye, are remaining as the staffing resource.

Agency staff are going to cross picket lines regardless of make believe contempt from the CWU. It's what happens when you have people who've no option, other than temporary work to take up. They've no security invested in the business, like permanent staff do. Either way the CWU is not responsible for the lack of agency being made permanent RM employees. it's RM deciding the staffing measures, and redundancies are clearly a cost cutting exercise, not a over staffing issue.

You are wrong on this. It's a matter of interpretation, not fact. I tested this personally when I was working for Angard and my hours were cut. I argued that as an employee with an established pattern of work I should have guranteed hours of work per week in the pattern I was used to. I contacted ACAS directly for advice, wrote to government and shadow ministers, my local MP and journalists reporting on the subject of zero hour contracts. Not one of them thought I had a legitimate case. As far as they were concerned I was a worker not an employee. At least the CWU got me a contract with Royal Mail.

Red as usual you come in with your wonderful opinions, its like a breath of fresh air everytime you type those fantastic words relating to workers rights in law. I look forward to every word and take it all as the gospel truth and perhaps even more kudos than the great lord almighty him or herself!! This i can assure you is 100% and unequivocally SARCASM and you should take it as such, you and your opinions are petty and verging on delusional in your own belief on what you say you know. Perhaps you should set up your own workers rights law practice and see how that goes. Meanwhile all you do is cause offence and seem to enjoy the criticism, i know it sounds a bit like a troll but i wouldn't know. I am sure you will enlighten us all again soon and i look forward to it greatly. NOT!!

It's a shame redlen can't see your posts. Unfortunately, anything that directly contradicts his 'facts' is completely invisible to him.
