RMCtv : Team South Wales & South West : Today we have 98 DOs fully clear of all parcels and letters.

Post by POSTMAN »

Regional Operations Director

A huge thank you to everyone in Team South Wales & South West

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone across the region today as it’s likely the last day we have the whole team in ahead of Christmas.

We have had to contend with so many headwind over the past few weeks, Peak volumes, IA, a week of severe weather, as well as the normal BAU and project demands, none of which have stopped over the past few weeks.

The performance from everyone in every unit has been incredible.

Today we have 98 DOs fully clear of all parcels and letters. An incredible performance given the challenges we have all faced in the past few weeks - a huge thank you to each and everyone of you.

Save my bandwidth and your sanity-30plus pics of clear frame office-unblocked toilets ect

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Considering all the trailers parked up, especially contractors being paid as they cannot unload them only a few days ago, along with specials over a week old still being processed that obviously have been stored in the back of trailers

This has to be the worst piece of spin have heard in all my life

Fantastic. If any customers accuse us of ruining Christmas by striking we can tell them that RM management say that there is no backlog and refer them to these pictures. There is nothing left for us to deliver. If they haven't received items then the suppliers must be lying about having shipped them so take it up with them.

Anyone on here from Preston MC?

Our MC sent yorks and yorks of unsorted manual letters to "Preston" the other day. We presumed it was code for hiding them somewhere.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday an extraordinary amount of all types of mail seemed to disappear either due to....

a) The exceptional hard work and diligence of a well managed and 100% committed staff, or...

b)shenanigans

If its a) then we definitely won't see loads of mail with horizon/meter dates from middle of December arriving in Jan.
Unless there's a huge warehouse fire somewhere over Xmas obviously.

If true.just goes to show how many contracts they’ve lost due to strikes , quietest Xmas I’ve ever had , businesses have gone elsewhere.

Three days before Christmas and we have no work in the system? This is great.

edit: In fact, don't let the media get ahold of these. "Three days before Christmas, during what is usualy the busiest time of the year, Royal Mail is reporting that there are no parcels and letters to be seen. In what possibly could be a move against embattled head Simon Thompson, senior managers are openly posting photos showing empty sorting centres.and delivery offices."

There's definitely some bullshit going on somewhere - i've seen tracking numbers of items picked up from Post Offices/Collections, even Parcel Collects on the doorstep that were picked up on the 2nd December and weren't even scanned into an MC until the 20th December.

So unless these MCs have suddenly cleared 17 days worth of mail (especially bearing in mind two of those were strike days) i'm calling BS.

My theory - they're all in the back of rented lorries (so no RM markings) parked up somewhere to avoid anymore embarrassing photos like those of Bristol appearing in the papers.
