As if by magic !!!
Finished my night shift and strangely no backlog. Yes busy to a point but where we couldn't unload last night, tonight tons of space on inward floor. Just wondered if anyone else has had Paul Daniels in. Big rumours that its been diverted somewhere or shipped out,but they were just rumours.

Take a look in the back of the trailers sitting in the car park.

The MC feeding my office also reports no Backlog, and to reinforce that we didn't have any extra wagons today - the first time since the beginning of December.

Re: As if by magic !!!
Yep same at our MC totally quiet picked up near the end but no backlog, backshift was dead also.
Also heard the rumor that the real backlog is sitting somewhere in a warehouse or something - not sure if i want that to be true or not, just know that on social media a lot of customers are still waiting on there stuff.

I am assuming all you guys commenting above ^^^^^^ have float cover?
It's impossible to be up to date when you have no float cover. I work in a big mail centre and all 100+ jobs have no float cover. Mail/small standard parcels do not go out on our day off.
If you have float cover for your rounds....do you have a lot of voluntary redundancies happening at your offices?

Simon Says
Team - I have just been reviewing our network performance - you are all doing great - let's keep going for our customers - thank you....

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

^^^ Tracked parcels are probably doing ok seeing as that is what they prioritise.
Network performance for letters and standard parcels will be utterly shite, but Royal Mail don't care about those.
Royal Mail have got exactly what they want.... a parcel company that doesn't give a crap about letters.

Re: As if by magic !!!
They’re hiding it in some warehouse or hanger somewhere so they can all pat each other on the back and say “what a great xmas we’ve had, we rescued xmas for our customers”
yea right!

Re: As if by magic !!!
Errm, don't they (RM) have 'free' storage capabilities at all the superhub sites?
They won't want mail's left out in the open over the Christmas period, open to the weather, vermin & potential theft.
Maybe they be starting with the PF owners drivers on 28th, giving them all the undelivered parcels to crack on with

Senior managers have been looking around local warehousing / storage units for short term storage.
Magic always has a trick. Its obvious if you know how the trick works.

Re: As if by magic !!!
We had loads of trays of mail on frames yesterday when we got back off delivery. This morning they had all gone and the DOM says just clear the loose mail and the parcels. Openly hiding mail to make the office seem clearer than the bomb site it would have been.

Re: As if by magic !!!
Just told to clear what was in our fittings and not to put any more mail in. Told to leave mail in boxes under our fittings and not to sort any new mail, just left in yorks. Full use of agency staff, ryde staff to clear parcels and mail in fittings.
