Who are VESA?

DK, Kretinsky and co.
The lot that were given permission to increase their stake potentially paving the way for a takeover.

Re: VESA still want more
His next aquisition will be GLS now the government have given him the green light.
That will take his share to a controling stake of 30% in Royal Mail,
He will then have to approach the share holders with a take over bid of the company paying at least the highest share price over the previous 12 months. This is why the share price is being deliberately kept low.
Czech Mate
People need to realise all the pointers show this is what the dispute is really about. VESA will be reluctant to aquire a controling interest with a company that has trade uniion representation. Simon Thompson has been put in place to smash the CWU by whatever means it takes. He will have the full support of the board of directors, and in my opinion, Ofcom as well

Maybe we've all been played like suckers.
If it was the plan or whether this is all just a result of one situation leading to another without prediction I will have to leave to someone more informed than myself to answer.
Food for thought though.

Re: VESA still want more
Am of the opinion once the aquisition of GLS with VESA has been made public, the shares will double in price, then sold for a quick profit. Classic pump and dump
Then Royal Mail will not be able to fulfill its obligations with the USO so repealed in some way. Royal Mail taken back into public ownership and remaining shareholders compensated like with Rail Track.
The Government will then break up Royal Mail into seperate companies for the highest bidder, such as Mail Centre, VOC and delivery units. Royal Mail will then cease to exist.

Re: VESA still want more
It's been well orchestrated in my view, all the pieces falling into place now. Not sure where we figure in it all but we'll be more relevant than the CWU. They are way out of their depths here, fighting a modern battle with very old tools.Eduardo wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 14:08Reading that gave me a proper chill.redlen wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 13:26His next aquisition will be GLS now the government have given him the green light.

You are kidding, right? Where have you been?

Not being a shareholder why would I know this?

Re: VESA still want more
Absolutely I can't wait to get out of the company and then off load the shares when the time's right. I wish I could go with VR payment but this is likely not going to happen. I am not sure Royal Mail will be broken up into small companies but GLS is likely to go.redlen wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 14:12

Another scenario I am thinking of could be Royal Mail and GLS staying together once they finally turn the UK operation into a gig economy company and completely destroy the service. All of that while Ofcom is sitting on their hands
