You only have to look on this forum to see that a big reason for the backlog is the average postman who is now deciding to do a half job.
I tell all my customers that have a query that one of the reasons is that their postie is dragging their heels and leaving mail in the frame despite in normal times finishing hours early!

That toad Thompson will just love you.
He'll still shaft you as hard, and as fast, as he possibly can, but he'll just love people like you to bits. Because, with your support, he'll succeed in making your job needlessly harder to complete.
Well done, you.

It's not his brain cells working or more probably a troll manager
If he's a manager, I still don't understand his position.
If the job of a postman/woman becomes even harder to complete, and more likely to fail, then so does their managers job become harder to achieve a clear office on a daily basis.
Are they really that stupid?
I know, I know, knew the answer to the question before I even wrote it.

It's a decent article, but most of the commentators below still want to rant about unions and strikes ruining Christmas, so you can never win with some rabid idiots who will never see reason for the froth from their mouths getting in their eyes.

So you’re shafting your workmates in two different ways, breaking strikes and calling them lazy. What a big man you are.
No he's just nursing a semi from winding up people who are ill with worry about the future of their jobs.

FB, you tell all YOUR customers that their postie, which would be YOU, is dragging their heels.... I tell all MY customers all the new changes to our jobs and let them decide whether it would be a better service for them, they can choose who they want to support. So far all have supported our fight.

There’s obviously a problem admitting they are prioritising parcels over letters, else they wouldn’t keep denying it, and yet we all know they ARE doing it, so surely this is an avenue the union’s lawyers should explore?

And how would you substantiate such an allegation with Ofcom in the real world besides harsh language?

Nothing is ever on paper and where it can be possibly substantiated, Royal Mail will simply state temporary operational needs within that delivery unit if a rebuttal was ever needed. Saying one thing and proving it are two different matters.
