Re: Resignation notice period
Or give your notice in on Wednesday with next Tuesday as your last day. That should give you an extra day's pay without working as it's a Bank Holiday.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Re: Resignation notice period
Your notice period will be what is stated in your contract of employment. As you are paid weekly that will normally be a weeks notice. However, around 2016 for new starters believe the contracts changed to a months notice. So best check what your contract states first.

The poster joined this site in 2007 so is unlikely to have started for RM after 2016.redlen wrote: ↑20 Dec 2022, 07:09Your notice period will be what is stated in your contract of employment. Re: Resignation notice period
There are quite a few employees who were ex Royal Mail, left, and rejoined at a later date.
As stated previously, check what your contract of employment states to be sure.

I started in 1990 .
Letter handed in , 1 weeks notice so 2 more days as a employee of royal mail and i'm done.
Feels weird after 32 years but this isn't the company it used to be .

Know exactly how you feel, over 35 years of loyal and reliable service here. Was suspended just before Christmas for "willful delay" and then treated like a pariah by my boss after. Hated going to work before, dreading going back tomorrow. What an utterly demoralizing, disgusting place to work.
