If the strike dates for the above get cancelled ( goodwill gesture or whatever) who’s going to leave the union, obviously we can argue if the strikes have done anything or not but the general feeling I’m getting from mates at work is that their leaving they’ve had enough.Problem is imagine RM without any union, I know they’ve not got the clout they once had but could you possibly imagine it ? Also being such a large union they need every subscription to keep going so say 100’s left that probably would impact them greatly too.
Any thoughts ?

Why on earth would cancelling a strike = leave the union?! We have been on strike successfully so far - the strikes are having an impact - so why throw your toys out of your pram if some get cancelled?

I will not leave the Union, No matter what. I have never agreed with any of the so called agreements that they have signed since privatisation and felt like leaving it many times. However without the Union we would have no say at all. I would be disgusted if they cancelled this weeks strike for anything less than full agreements on the latest Union proposals.

I would never leave the union and back the union all the way.
Without the union making a stand against the the current situation, the company would just railroad through us regarding wages, terms and conditions and redundancies, to make bigger profits.
People need to wake up and realise that it was unions that gave us fair wages, good working conditions, paid holidays, paid sick leave and a myriad of other things.
