I would be very disappointed if the union call this off without a cast iron etched in stone agreement with the Slyman that covers all issues, otherwise he will just cast them aside first chance he gets, read all small print and then double check it to make sure its all above board. Then perhaps get it signed up before we stop all industrial action, goodwill gestures are not really a good idea seeing as how the CEO has already sent his begging letter and would love it if we came in and "Delivered Christmas" for him, in the new year he would just dump on us from a great height. I would hope the union has seen and heard enough from these people to not trust them, but stranger things have happened.

It’s dangerous ground for the union if they cancel the strikes without a good agreement.

The sentiment at my DO this morning from quite a few members was that they were ‘done with the union’ if they call off these strikes without good cause.

Can’t see myself why they’d be called off without a solid agreement anyway.

Thompson, Macauley and McPherson want to smash the union. Its bad enough now , imagine without a union. Stick together folks and don't give the CEO an early Xmas pressie by jacking your hard-earned membership in!!

A union is not just for strikes. It can provide protection, help, advice and support on a range of everyday issues. If the union is weak or not supported then management make up the rules.

i'd leave,that guy at the rally said the union wouldnt put pen to paper until every person who is suspended is reinstated,and i wouldnt expect to stop striking until pen is put to paper.Lets hope they are not like the Tories who never tell the truth and lie all the time.

In the absence of an agreement why would the union cancel the strikes....don't know what all the worrying is about.

Why this weird obsession with some about CWU cancelling 23/24th strike dates ?
Almost - like - some - are - s**t - stirring
The anger and furore cancelling those dates on the bases of some spurious 'goodwill gesture' would cause the CWU a lot of damage
It would be seen (rightly) as a complete climb down and a kick in the face to us and a pathetic hollow gesture to appease RM.
Unless one/both sides make major concessions then the strikes are most definitely ON
