Apparently 7 in our office out of about 30 clearing all parcels tracked and non tracked, they have cleared everything apart from letters which sounds great but most walks already have at least 2 days mail and n it so it simply won’t get cleared by Thursday and then it’s strike time!

I dont have a problem with anyone working Sundays - bit annoyed that people are working this Sunday when the most pressure is on RM and is a crucial moment in the dispute but it is what it is.

Over 60 staff are delivering letters and parcels at my unit today on overtime, most scheduled to work 8 hours or more, desperate to clear the backlog. Major turnout.

This is why we'll never win this dispute. It's f*cking pointless.

Are some of those the same people who won't talk to strike breakers and are striking because they don't want to work Sundays lol

Cannot comment on delivery office manpower but in the Mail Centre the Parcel Machines can whiz through any backlog.

Shame they can't deliver them, eh?

I wonder out of the 60 would like to work every Sunday.

This is one of the reasons why were out on strike is so as this company cant compulsory make you work Sunday's. And the fact they want a flat rate soon, so there lucky there getting a premium hourly rate for now.

I don't see the issue with people going in on the odd Sunday or working their day off now and again during these strikes as long as it's not too regularly. I'd rather people did this than go in on a strike day.

At the end of the day - the backlog is too big nationwide for the odd postman here and there to help Royal Mail recover the situation. Royal Mail doubly shoot themselves in the foot as they have the strikes going on and they understaff us.... so backlog gets worse and worse, on top of this - if anyone goes off sick they are extra extra screwed.

Why wouldn't people be desperate to clear the backlog.
Aren't we the 4th emergency service?
That backlog contains medicines and hospital appointments doesn't it?

4 th emergency service ?
So why is there such a huge backlog of Hospital appointments, medicines, had and electricity,has payments?
Utter disgrace from management.
