How is your DO/MC looking?

The most I counted was twenty boxes of sequenced next to one frame, other walks had between eight and fifteen just sitting there, not counting the mail from IPS

Most of the year we send out a box a walk on wave 1, maybe two boxes for the odd walk. During Xmas pressure it can sometimes be 3 boxes per walk, with the odd walk getting 4 boxes. The CSS machines tend to chuck out lots of rejects when there's lots of Xmas cards.

Most of the year we have the option of running some sequencing on the iLSMs (IMPs for MCs that have them) but this time of year they'll all be running outward sort plans. I can see us reverting to walk sort at some point or if it gets bad enough, just sending the batches out as they are, without them going through a machine to be walk sorted or walk sequenced.

Not had any backlog so far so there must be loads of mail for us stuck upstream somewhere

Where is the backlog you speak of? You've been saying this for two weeks

5000+ SD's not processed on the late shift yesterday evening (40 yorks) and around 4000+ SD's (30 yorks) not processed on inward this morning. Both shifts sent thousands out without a scan and sent loads out with the Tracked. So no chance of them being delivered soon. Also we were processing T48 posted on the 5th an 7th December.

^6 days mail in my frame,today again we just took tracked and i thought last weeks backlog was bad,10 times worse now,you would need to work 7 days a week till February to clear it,100's of nhs letters undelivered ,and a guy stopped me today and asked if i was delivering post as he hasn't had any for nearly 2 weeks i looked in my frame and he has about 20 xmas cards in there,and if the rumour is true no letters next week he ain't getting them.

Piles of parcels akin to an unlit bonfire everywhere at our place. Managers practically on their knees begging us to come in tomorrow and early all next week. Most lads are refusing and just coming in normal start times due to the way Thompson has acted throughout all of this.

About 60 Yorks of packets piled up outside. I have 4 days worth of letters in the frame and about 7 boxes on the floor that’s due to the weather and the strikes. They have asked for people to come in tomorrow a few have taken up the offer and they also want people to come in an hour early on
Monday to prep our own walks too.

If the rumour about DOs not delivering any letters next week is true and that includes MCs not processing them, then when we do process them, most will end up going as manual as they're no way that we'd be able to sequence 5 days worth of letters and once Xmas pressure is over, we won't be allowed to hold any mech letters back. Most likely the best we'll be able to do will be walk sort, even with all IMPs/iLSMs in use for sequencing it'd be physically impossible to sequence 5 days worth of letters

We'll probably send out whatever we can to DOs to free up the space to store it as Tracked 24 and SDs will probably go through the roof this week

Yes quite a lot from our DO have gone in today to sort out the parcels - probably boosting their coffers before the 2 day strike at the end of next week. Can't move in our depot for yorkies crammed full.

Casuals doing walks instead of oversized pkts, no one walk sorting, manager now prioritizing parcels over mail, under guise of health & safety, space. Trying our best but some walks probably got 2/3 days backlog. Postboxes being cleared, rammed, but hardly any sequence or loose letters coming through. Blame us for some due to strikes but a shambolic effort in organisational efforts from above. Sad from this once great company.
