Tuesday 27th December and Monday 2nd January
Im sure it's been covered before on here but I've forgotten what the answer was. So if your day off falls on either of these days will you be owed a day in lieu for them or is it just unfortunate.

Depends on if you have duty or are just leave reserve as they can change your day off.

Yes you will be owed a day in lieu as both Tue 27th Dec & Mon 2nd Jan are official Bank Holidays. (Tue 3rd of Jan in Scotland too)

I thought you could have a different day off that week or paid overtime for day if they can give you day off

Re: Tuesday 27th December and Monday 2nd January
It’s like any other bank holiday.
If it’s your scheduled day off then you’re owed a day in lieu.
If it falls within your normal attendance day for that week. You get the day off.
If you had leave booked on that day, you’ve used 1 less day of your A/L entitlement (I.e. you haven’t used your A/L allocation on that day)

If it's a Bank holiday then yes you get your contract hrs for that day (differs with long and short days) added onto your annual leave.
If it's just a non service day and you're scheduled to work it's just tough. You will not get the time your colleagues are having off extra, back. Something the CWU should have really sorted out a long time ago as it's so unfair. But hey ho, they never did.
