VRs dont scare people. As the oversubscription has shown, a lot WANT VRs.
Compulsory redundancies scare people.
Thats why the threat of CRs were put out there and now being promised to not happen if we just come back to work....

Well VRs certainly don’t scare me. in a matter of months this job has changed from a decent job to a absolute shambles. The thing is I have been told from a couple of managers that VRs are actually happening. It would be nice if somebody who has actually been offered it would come on and let us know.

Royal Mail are not suddenly going to do complete u turn on their plans to make no redundancies what so ever. The 10000 they want reduced will hopefully come through v r’s and natural wastage.

I can confirm I have been offered it. Roughly a years pay and as it falls under the 30k threshold, not taxed. Only a fortnight to get it done, a list of solicitors, which you need to sign things off, to use, which RM will subsidise up to a certain amount. 3 in our office out of approx 60 have got it.Mcclinton wrote: ↑16 Dec 2022, 20:42Well VRs certainly don’t scare me. in a matter of months this job has changed from a decent job to a absolute shambles. In our office they are lapsing over 10 duties in the new year
and 5 jobs are going via VR and we only had 4 apply properly after 10 initially showed interest. I wish and pray I don't have to wait until March as I want out asap!

Re: VR - POLL - Who gets it at your depot....
There is no option to do that! Why would there be?
The first £30k of redundancy is tax free.
You'll be given a leaving date. If that is in 12 weeks or more, you'll be expected to work those weeks. If it's less you'll be given PILON, which is taxable.
