People do not know who to believe from both sides with all this propaganda and spin. That is why the dispute is never ending, who do you trust and actually telling the truth and not have an ulterior motive?

The CWU is telling the truth....some things they may have said may be estimates, such as this '25,000 compulsory redundancies' based on the plans Royal Mail had shown them.

Whereas from Royal Mail it's clearly been multiple lies or at the very least confusion. Just the example of... 'CRs in March', 'CRs in 2024, now to 'no CRs'.....

I would not be surprised if in a few weeks we hear VRs have been cancelled.

It's all just a bluff, maybe to keep strikes going for whatever reason - or to get enough people out the door through natural wastage.

I wonder if the redundancies was just a bluff from the start.
RM would know that a lot of folk would accept VR/retire/leave and not be replaced and by making a terrible deal for us to accept but was just a smokescreen for the other terms and conditions to be pushed through.

Now they can say they have budged from the CR and pay us 9% (or whatever it is) and the CWU can claim a victory and RM will look like they have compromised…

Can not understand how royal mail has said that the union was lying about compulsory redundancies. Very strange

We were literally called in to a meeting in our MC where we were told by the shift manager there'll be 84 redundancies, if not enough voluntary, then they will be compulsory.

Like Orwell's Newspeak this.
