This is the key. The CWU either overlooked that issue or thought they could get their pay deal and underestimated the CEO.

Every xmas in the mail centres we have a "childrens xmas charity week" which (this year) will be next week, presents are sent in by charities and everyone pulls out all the stops and the yorks for dispatch are usually headed up by giant teddy bears or other cute toys,
The drivers always prioritise these yorks on loading too.
