It seems they are just going to do whatever they feel like, our com has already told us that theres a duty coming out of the office by February, we only have 8 duty's so that will be interesting. I am pretty sure they want to have the duties well over the delivery span and just have you leaving parts each day mail wise, but delivering the premium products for it all. It sorta means that the flexing idea is dead as nobody will ever finish early anytime of the year therefore nothing to give back. The uso will have to be abandoned as there's no way to deliver all the mail and the rest in time. Interesting times but not in a good way and it will only hasten my retirement from this company. I never thought it would come to this when i joined up 15 years ago and i have always enjoyed the job rain, hail or snow, the Slyman and his cohorts really aren't a nice bunch of people with even less of a idea how to run a company with everybody's interests at heart, all about the £££. Still wont ever go in and will strike as long as it takes and try to shift these losers.

Good luck with getting everything delivered going out that late as posties will be coming back earlier to avoid school/work traffic so essentially either leaving more in or cutting off more. Another dose of complete fuckuppery by our CEO.

Will Unite not ballot against this as it would affect the managers too, presumably they wont be able to dash out before half 2 anymore under these terms.

Was told can't move time more than half an hour without agreement
I'm sure I read this on the government website, it has to be agreed through a representative body(cwu) or an individual

This is from my contract that i received on 05/02/2019 under section 20 Variation of Contract

Royal Mail reserves the right to change these terms and conditions on giving you reasonable notice, and,in the case of matters fundamental and material, following any appropriate consultation with you and/or the recognised trade union that represents your grade. Confirmation of any change to any contractual term will be given in writing, for example, either individually to you by personal letter or by publication on the Policy and Information Site.

To me that reads any contractual changes have to go through the union or RM are in breach of contract.

just had me mate on the phone, he mentioned our gaffer has said the later start times are coming in at ours in the new year whether we like it or not and it will be 8.45 for F/Ts 10.15 for P/Ts. can we just refuse? i mean we are striking for 'change' as well as pay. i said they won't be able to do it if we all refuse and just come in at our normal time, and he reckons we might all be suspended without pay if we do. and up to now there's been no guidance off the union.....any thoughts? its going to be a shitstorm in there in Jan.
30 days notice to change your hrs. Or at least it used to be....

Yes I know it's hardly the end of the world but it suits me to finish on a 20 min break, 20mins is ideal for me and I know some of the others as well to stop for a sarnie out on delivery, oh well suppose tough s**t will be the answer.

Would it be an idea to have your meal break at lunch time as you would have had breakfast before starting work? So you would go out and deliver part of delivery then return to the office for your meal break, at the end of the break return to your delivery. Just a thought as 11am would be somewhat early for lunch. :hmmmm

Not agreed. All the law states is a duty to consult a trade union, nothing more

Royal Mail is your employer and pays your wages and who you have a contract of employment with, not the trade union.

Don't mind these times if we can stick to our finish times... Not staying out til 5 in January.
You'll be finishing later as well. For example if your new start times are 2hrs later, you'll finish 2hrs later.

I'm expect we'll be told in MCs that we're also starting and finishing later, don't know by how much but would assume it'd be by the same amount as the majority of DOs in the area, and that all dispatch times will be made later by the same amount.

I can see RM doing away with 9am specials very soon. Whenever I've worked in our SD locker, it's very, very rare for a DO to get more than 2, it's rare enough to get 1 and often DOs don't get any.
