Post by k979aaa »

For years we have all talked about this but now the talking will stop for it is now royalmail's dictoral policy that they have imposed their masterplan upon us remember they got £1.2 billion pounds for restructuring the buisness and the government have managed to find £57 billion for northern rock (a private company)!. But for you a tax payer with your comitments and lone's + mortgage's and children to feed no you will have to work five yes five year's longer now this may not seam a lot behind your desk and sat in your leather chair you try being a postman for a day but not just a day for thirty years till your 60 and then be told till 65 what next 70 ,80 ,90 where does this madness end!. SORRY BROWN BUT YOU ARE TOO MUCH OF A CLOWN.!IN GOD'S NAME GO AND GO NOW!.

You are totally right! Some of us posties endure pain everyday (e.g. bad backs, pains in our legs through walking or standing or pains in our shoulders through lifting trays, mailbags, pushing yorks and A frames all day) whilst these pen pushers sit behind their desks and tell us that we have to work to 65. I cannot see myself doing all this after I am 60, some days I am in pain but I carrying on regardless. My job entails alot of lifting why should I still be doing this after the age of 60. At present I see alot of posties taking medical retirement because they have trouble with their backs, legs, feet, etc and they are not even 60 yet. I would love to see these pen pushers do my job for 6 month and then they can judge whether we should retire at 60 or not

What really gets my goat is that neither the Top Union guys or Top Royal Mail guys who are doing all the discussing and who will no doubt compromise "for us" , are actually members of the same pension as any of us. Sso how can they, in all truth defend our position, and make decisions which will have no affect on them at all. In point they have no vested interest in keeping the scheme as it is so it will be surrendered on the Altar of compromise.

Iv'e said all along this idea of working to 65 is a non starter. all you will end up with is a company that sit's at the top of the sickness in employment league. All it proves is the twats who come up with these ideas have never done the job or they would know it's not on.
