Managers joining us on delivery

The managers at our place (MC/DO) spend 95% of their time standing with their arms crossed watching people in bullrings or in groups blocking marked thoroughfares/clear areas talking about football or what they did at the weekend.

Imagining those useless deadweight salary-suckers out in subzero blizzard conditions will get me through the rest of the Christmas busy period a little easier. Especially on the 23rd and 24th.

Also...maybe if we'd been given a fair payrise and not had our terms and conditions attacked...THIS WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Non Ops Managers work in my local CSP in the week leading up to Xmas and have done for years.This isn’t without prescient about about ten years ago they had the non ops out working in D.O’s in Scotland in September for the month when there was a dire shortage of OPG’s.

I hope it's just managers they are asking and not the office staff. After all the office staff are CWU members and have been on strike with the rest of us. It defeats the object if you then dig these people a dig to catch up. AND CHEEK OF IT TO ASK YOU TO USE YOUR OWN VEHICLE. TELL THEM TO GO SWIVELL.

Unless they have multi drop insurance they will only be covered up to their first delivery point.

It's pretty clear the vehicle is covered by RM's own insurance and given they self insure I assume they can decided to insure what they want to insure, although there'as no indication if it's comp or just TPO cover and, if it's the former, what the policy excess is should it be a fault accident.

that's how i ready into it. Yoru personal insurance is separate. Your covered for goods in transit. If you (or a 3rd party) makes a claim whilst you've explicit permission (i.e. next week) then RM insurance picks up tab including any excess.

Also, still can't have mail on display, everything needs to be locked and ofcourse it is voluntary if you chose to use your vehicle. They can't be forced (it's a request)

Our manager today said they are pulling all letters next week and only delivering parcels,i bet that was their idea cos the lazy bastards dont wanna walk.

If you can take people away from their roles for a month at a time are they needed in the first place?

Do we need a CEO who spends his time playing games on social media or a Chairman who is a bully boy toff or a COO who is a thug or any of the people on the board of Royal Mail.
