Letters

Post by eastie »

With our COM keep saying tracked delivered 1st for the past month the frames are rammed with letters . Thompson says that letters are as important as apparels.
If I tell my COM I want to clear my frame and leave the parcels can they tell me no?

Write to your local MP demanding they visit your local office! Someone from outside the company needs to see the amount of letters dumped by the fittings for weeks!! Only offices ive seen clearing are the mail centre ones!

Yes your manager can tell you what he wants you to prioritise

Any blowback is on them
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

What they said to the press was just scummy politician like word salad.
They said that they “don’t have a policy of prioritising parcels” which is technically true, but it’s what they have been doing for a couple of years at least . We all know that.

My partner and I tried the letter argument with our COM the day after that statement was in the press and he said “it’s a direct request from the manager above me, clear the tracked”

It’s bullshit but you can’t care anymore, if you do you’ll go insane. Do what they say, go home.

Basically you have to accept reasonable instructions from a manager.

You could always say that you saw that nice Mr Thompson on telly saying that we won't prioritise parcels at the expense of letters so ask your COM to put his instruction in writing to cover your back in the event of customers complaining that you aren't delivering their letters - then come back and try to describe the various colours that his face goes.

Surely you could leave T48 a day and just take what you can out the frame plus T24s and specials. Not sure why T48 packets should take priority over 1c parcels and mail. But I guess management know best so take your D2Ds and your lapsing.

T48's can be tracked by customers who can then claim compensation if they are delayed, customers are oblivious to what's happened to their 1C parcels and mail, those can be left for over a month and there's still nothing the customer can do about it, compensation wise.

That's a great idea ,everyone should do this I have emailed mine just now ,along the lines of rm do not want letters they want it to wither ,they are not fulfilling their obligations and finally our ceo either walks out of needing or does not turn up 9 months of nothing leaving the posies piggy in the middle trying to give customers what they expect with one hand tied behind their backs .

Interesting.

Has there been an order from higher up as today for the first time we were asked to do mail aswell as parcels on 1 duty and to leave the other one apart from Specials.

Once mail reaches the inward MC it's ALL 1C at that point. The difference between 1st and 2nd is when the mail gets dispatched from the outward MC to the inward MC. 1C gets dispatched to the MC the day it's posted, 2C gets dispatched the next day
