Re: Managers joining us on delivery
Tell your managers which loops they can do for you. Preferably the ones with the d2d I would suggest.

Just when you think they couldn't be more incompetent.
Minimal training? That just about sums Royal Mail Management up.

STOP PRESS ........ Three Kings coming from the East have been asked to help deliver the backlog of mail ....along with their Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh ....... it's OK they have been cleared to use their own Camels!
They're also asking any shepherds that aren't carrying out essential roles if they can help out as well !

I seem to remember their union telling them exactly this a few weeks ago, and at the start of the strikes, not to do postie's work ... Going to be interesting

Re: Managers joining us on delivery
If this letter is for line managers then it would be better if they stayed in the depot sorting frames while we are out. Right now you can't get everything into your frame and you need to get out and actually deliver. The managers would be better off prepping our frames as much as possible for the following day so we can just come in and bag up.
I'd love for my line manager to go and do my job as then they will actually be made to realise just how tough my round is. Not going to happen though.

Re: Managers joining us on delivery
lol there's not as many out there as you think. COMs will likely still be in DOs. Remember this is mainly aimed at non-Ops managersHalfhappy wrote: ↑15 Dec 2022, 10:36Neither have I, n I've done 30+ years.
They won't be at every DO. It will likely be the DO that is closest to them or directed to the nearest one that requires most help. Happens every Christmas. Same with at the peak of absence when Covid cases were high in about Spring 2020 (I think). non-OPS managers were in my local DO delivering walks & and/or just parcel duties. If you don't have a non-Ops manager living within your catchment you'll have never seen them at your unit in your 30+ years. Obviously there are non-Ops managers that will be exempt i.e still working on essential services like Payroll & CPC and other stuff that needs to continue in background.
Folk on here making out as though they've been positioned as the silver bullet to clear the backlog. In fairness though, previous Xmas' they just go in MCs and do sorting or staff callers office or in even stay in & prep walks. A few may go out deliver parcels. Now it will be primarily to deliver parcels
