Thanks for that Ricky, but I’ll be clocking out 2.40pm on my last day before Christmas.

It’s a bit of a shame, this time last year I was a hero clearing bags and parcels so we had a clear office, I was the last one back and well remember the only other member of staff stood on the gate looking glum saying ‘hurry up mate, I want to lockup and get home’ (of course, all the managers had gone).

This year, I’ll be working 14 hours and 40 minutes on Christmas week and not a second more. It’s a good job there’s no backlog, mail is down and managers/strike breakers/agency are managing to clear everything on strike days

It’ll be interesting to see if they mention any uplift on “10% of staff coming to work” that was claimed previously for this set of strike days.

Given the weather and the hard couple of days we’ve had (and no likeness of things relenting anytime soon), I imagine a few that have previously crossed may consider the rest and warmth of home preferable, even if that means forgoing a couple of days pay.

Of course, if there’s silence on this, that suggests the strikes are still holding strong

I'm all confused, RM Super Mac says : 5pm last letter (a 30 minute extra means a 3pm finish ) looks like my maths are crap, NO redundancies until March, they have stated 6-10,000 losses this time around , cwu probably looking at a worst case scenario with losses every year following. RM WANT owner drivers on crap terms, (better than Amazon whoopee) I know Anguard agency staff who get told not to come in , even 1 hour before their start times. So where are the cwu lies ? Going for a lie down now
