As much as I'd love this to be over, I'd look pretty unfavourably on the CWU if they walked out of tomorrow's talks (if they are even happening) and told us they were cancelling the strikes as a goodwill gesture.

If they cancel without a concrete agreement RM are laughing. It's the only time that real pressure can be exerted. Now is not the time for any goodwill gesture.

Exactly, with the sh*t weather and the current chaos even if the strikes were called off now... and we worked every day now til Christmas the mail still wouldn't be completely cleared.

Our current ballot doesn't cover these dates or I'd agree with you . We have to be re-balloted again in January .

The ballot for change is live until Feb 17th

We will be reballoted so we can take action if needed after that date

The Reballot result, if a YES, will take effect from then but the union can still call strikes up until that date on “change”

Why not call them off I doubt we will deliver much today if anything because of the ice the weather has been like a strike day but your getting paid bring in o/t ban instead of striking. At least every ones getting full pay our office is a total mess with no chance of clearing

So the CWU did in fact offer to call off this weeks strikes but RM refused the offer,

I smelled something like that was in the offing.

I’m so happy tomorrows strike is going ahead.
